Tevez

I still think he left so he could drive abroad .

My understanding the driving ban will not apply to Italy / Spain etc etc .

Really, so drink driving should not be a criminal offense? Driving while disqualified is fine is it, and not a criminal act? Driving without due care and attention should not be a criminal act? Maybe you should tell that to someone whose kids have been killed by a careless/drunk/disqualified driver.

Events overtook his control and he was sold to Juventus which meant his work permit was no longer valid and he was unable to stay and complete the court order. He did nothing to affect this change."
Rubbish the guy instigated the move knowing full well he wouldn't complete the order, under the courts he wouldn't need a permit to complete the sentence.

You will have to wait for mancitymick to copy and paste another quote for a detailed reply

It is my bad for being so vague.

I meant traffic violations as opposed to drink-driving.

we are one of the very few countries that adopt a points system for licenses when most others do an on the spot fine. Our insurance is crippling younger drivers like myself, why can we not adopt the same policy as New Zealand where we have no insurance and simply pay for damage as and when it occurs otherwise we go to court. It would make people more savvy on the road as they know a crash will directly cost them whereas safe driving wont.

I can rack up 4 speeding offences and get banned. Only a few months ago I got £60 fine and 3 points for doing 36 on a 30 at 8.30pm (ish) and no other car in my sight and the road was clear (i.e no cars parked on the kurb), so 4 of them and I get banned yet in USA or Germany you get a fine instead. Here you get a fine+points. Ludicrous, it really fucking is.

The way I see it is only 3 charges should be jail-able; Drink/drug-driving, death by dangerous driving and careless driving.

Tevez has a license in Argentina which imo is just as valid as one from Latvia, India or China yet these folks get to drive on the road. that's where my viewpoint originated from.

I personally just get really, really pissed off with the hard-line approach of this country when it comes to putting people behind bars for a series of low-end driving offences and imo we shouldn't. It's easy to say 'well if it was your kid' and all this stuff but fact is I have been driving 8 years and I speed EVERY DAY and yet I am yet to knock one over, reason is because I take care of when I choose to speed and some fucking bellend will stand there with a speed-gun on a rural road fucking peoples days up.

If this government was all that bothered about speeding then they would use set up a wireless beacon that transmits a message to your car to stop you going over a certain speed. A cars inbuilt computer would then limit the car just like the 'speed limiter' button you find on most new cars. That way it would be impossible to speed and would free up all the traffic police who spend their days standing at the side of a road.

I worked as an inspector for HMI Gov on probation CS was my specialist area about 10% of all orders are not completed because people move away and the sentence is not picked up in their new area some go to to jail, others simply quit the Uk many call in sick and have the order changed.

About 20-25% of offenders simply fail to turn up and because enforcement is slow and has to be done within 12 months, they string it out, and the order lapses. If it is enforced you get more hours to do on top of the ones you haven't done so offenders can simply play a long game with very little consequence.
Fair play to Charlie Tevez he did offer the court a £55,000 car as compensation for his failure to complete his sentence which is more than many CS offenders ever do

Former Manchester City striker discusses first impressions of life in Turin.
Juventus striker Carlos Tevez has revealed that he will have to work much harder than during his time in England, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Argentine international began training with his new club this week, and spoken about his first impressions of working under coach Antonio Conte.

Having laughed off speculation during the week that the club had deemed him overweight, Tevez has conceded that he will have to work particularly hard if he is to make his time in Italy a success.

“I found a team ready to target an historic third consecutive Scudetto, but who are also capable of making an impact on the Champions League,” he told Gazzetta.

“What do I say after my first day of training? Well, I’ll certainly have to run much more than in England…

“Feeling the passion of the fans is important for me. I came here to work hard and it took me just half a session to realise I’ll have to work harder than in England.”

The 29-year-old is expected to help the Bianconeri move to the next level in their bid to successfully dominate in Italy and conquer Europe.

Conte is notoriously strict in both his diet and fitness regimes, and it is become apparent that Tevez will likely have to adapt and get up to speed with the Italian tactician’s way of coaching.

Nevertheless, there is ample time for the Argentine to get into prime shape, and he will hope to become a major part of the club’s future, especially considering that they have now withdrawn their interest in Fiorentina star Stevan Jovetic.
