USA! USA! USA!
I know America isn't perfect but one thing we're right about is Thanksgiving, our best holiday by far. First of all it's always on a Thursday so it always gives us a four day weekend, secondly (and best of all) it doesn't involve presents. It's just an excuse to get together with friends or family, enjoy each other's company and have a nice meal. I admit we've allowed it to be spoiled a bit with all of the Black Friday nonsense but at its heart it's a great way to kick off the holiday season.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Or you can take 2 days out of your 40 day annual leave plus 8 bank holidays and do it anytime you want. Oh, I forgot, you get next to no leave in the US.

Didn't you do the exact same thread recently?

It takes me 2 weeks to recover from all the shit i eat and drink and Christmas, yet Americans do it twice in a month!

Yes agreed it is a good thing the Yanks do, a family get together. I remember when I was there being invited, and going to a friends parents (as they didnt want me to be alone on that day) It was a great day, playing darts and pool in the basement after the meal. A memory Ive always cherished TBH.
