That Ricky Villa goal

I wasn't alive when that goal happened, but it's still the goal I've seen the most times.

I think it should be banned.

Steve Mackenzies goal was the best goal scored that night and is never shown. I went to both games plus it was the first time the replay was ever held at Wembley and it didn't do us any favours. And why was it a Thursday night what was all that about!! Still makes me angry and I absolutely hate Spuds!!

Bloody spot on there sunshine !!!
I,ve always said that Mackenzies was technically a far better goal, but doesn,t the winning one always make the headlines.
Unfortunately for us Blues it was for the wrong reasons.

Yeah I was at wembley in 81 that goal still breaks my heart always hated them ever since plus we hardly beat them talk about bogey side. Steve McKenzine's goal was brilliant, also Tommy Hutchinson's diving header was a beauty in the 1st match.

It totally caught me unawares, I was with a couple of mates chattin and the tv sound was down, and then out of the blue, I saw a picture of Villa and knew what was coming...twats

And one of the best teams we,ve had for years !!
Defending !!! What was that ???
Bloody hell both full backs and centre halves could get forward and score.
John Bond was a brilliant Manager at the time !!

I was at the Saturday match, behind the goal where Hutch scored... a top day out, me and our kid... on the special from Mcr Piccadilly to Wembley Central. Couldn't go to the replay, school night...
I was 14 back then. Still hate them Spud twats and it all goes back to that final... not sure if we ever had any bad times with 'em before then.

Exactly...! as Villa's goal clearly shows..

Thanks for reminding me ,walked out of a tech drawing o level to go to the replay and copped it the next day.
Will probably my only chance to see them lift a trophy in the flesh(I live in Sydney),the train journey after the replay was earie ,not one person spoke in the carriage I was in.
Mackenzie's goal was technically better, but really does anyone expect anything better off the BBC.
There was a almighty kick off queueing for the train when some tool started taking the piss about Bob Marley dieing, the final and the replay still haunt me 29 years on.Anyway onwards and upwards

It is, unfortunately for us, one of the iconic goals of FA cup final.

I was as pissed off as everyone else at the time, but you have to respect it.

It was shit defending really, but he saw his chance and took it.

The same sort of defending as when Maradona ran through the England defence in Mexico in 1986, England should of chopped him down and the City defence should of done the same.

I,d prefer to watch Bonds teams anyday, compaired to some of shit we now see.

I was 14 at the time, and there are certain things I remember quite vividly about the first game, the diving header by Tommy Hutch was one and then realising after the match how close we came to winning on the Saturday. I didn't realise at the time how late on their equalizer was.

Also, does anyone else remember the pre-match entertainment???.... I can remember some model aeroplanes being flown around the pitch and crashing into each other in some sort of dog fight..... it was all very weird!

The two goals they alwasy go on about are the Villa 81 goal and the Giggs semi final goal at Villa Park.

I genuinely believe that Kinky scored at least 5 goals better than both of them but how often are they shown???

Imagine if a rag had scored teh Kinky goal v Southampton. Would never be off the telly.

I was at the replay as a 19 year old. MacKenzie's goal was pure class. Villa's poor defending. I hate seeing it every year the FA cup 3rd round is on etc.

The other thing about this final was that Big Joe was fantastic in the first game. There was no way they were going to score unless it was a fluke - and it was. We deserved to win the first game.
