how inconvenient of an international fixture is this? Only a few days after the Community Shield and in the week leading up to our first league game. Guess maybe it is sort of a blessing that our game is a Monday night then.

Yaya will be back in Africa for a game against Israel in Côte d'Ivoire
Silva and maybe Mario in Italy for Italy v Spain
Aguero and Tevez in Bucharest for Romania v Argentina
Kompany in Slovenia for Slovenia v Belgium
Hart, NDJ, Milner, Barry, Lescott, AJ at Wembley England vs Netherlands
Dzeko in Bosnia
Kolarov in Moscow for Russia v Serbia
Savic in Albania

Simple, take a leaf out of Whisky Noses book. Amazingly all our internationals have little niggles.
The twat gets away with it all the time.

our players actually take pride in playing for their countries.

aye, Chelsea and Arsenal do it too, with the likes of Terry and Lampard springing to mind straight away. Oh Gerrard anyone? Mancini just put the foot down please.

Having said that, I do agree we are lucky with the Monday kickoff, and let's be fair its Swansea at home. Our 2nd team should be able to do a number that night!!

You can't say that.

Expecting to beat Swansea is an unrealistic expectation on here.

YOU SERIOUS MATE? Why on god's green earth would we not go into that first match, at home, vs Swansea, with the squad and intimidation we now have, and not expect to turn them over? If we can't go into that of all matches this season then we might as well not bother hoping for anything. Really scratching my head over that man.

Really? How many of Swansea's squad are off playing internationals that weekend? Monday is a blessing but to take Swansea lightly, especially at the beginning of the season, when they'll be playing with no fear, is foolish.

Let's look at this. Hart is gk, wont matter (injury aside) ...Micah wont be playing Lescott wont be playing, Aguero/Tevez one of the two wont be playing as they rotate their forwards. Silva doesn't start for spain as far as im aware, unless maybe they have him in post W.Cup. Clichy..France have a game? cant remember the original post off my head.

All im saying is we have a bleedin' world class squad of which quite a lot of whom will either play no part, or some part in that match. It should not matter whatsoever. Our newest signing Sergio Aguero. Swanseas (probable) newest signing Leroy Lita. My goodness.

so the Argentina/Romania friendly was canceled, so I guess Aguero will be at Carrington all week.

Romanian plans to open for public its newly rebuilt National Arena stadium with a friendly match against a major team were dealt a heavy blow as the Argentinian Football Federation announced the match against Romania, due to take place on August 10, was cancelled.

The Argentinian federation announced on its website the national selection committee decided to put an end to the contract with Sergio Batista and cancel the friendly match with Romania.
