The 39th anniversary of the "Good Friday Disagreement" between Oldham & City fans

Still cracks me up today when the ladders were brought in and Blues climbed into, and took over the upper level seating in the stand to the right of the away fans.

Carnage that day!
It was a crazy day. Those ladders were from the TV gantry opposite stand. It was like a keystone kops thing when the City fans legged it across the plastic pitch with them. They then put them up in the Main Stand paddock and climbed into the directors box.

I‘ve often wondered if the guys in the TV gantry ever got them back to climb down from!

Afterwards Joe Royle was asked about the mayhem and he said something jokey like ‘we’d be happy to have that every time if it brings us as much money in as the game did’

Correction: it wasn’t the plastic pitch! Sorry!

bloody hell , we had a full coach from the kenilworth pub, a mixture of different fans, it was a lovely day out, the coach had those head rest covers, and as the carnage unfolded you could see the seat covers on heads all over the ground, i ran up those ladders, and my old man was in the terracing as well if i remember correctly, ended up getting chased by a police dog on the road behind the ground, fucking brilliant day out

Over 20,000 there I think. Don’t think they got that many in the PL
