I've been being nosey on a few message boards this evening out of curiosity, and people are slatting Hughes for being annoyed about there being 5 minutes injury time and saying it's clear that he doesn't have a winning mentality as he should have been wanting all the injury time he could get to push for a winning goal.

Now, albeit I was a bit confused as to how 5 mins were put up, but just before it was I was hoping that it would be a lot of injury time as we did look the most likely team to score. But Kolo went down injured JUST before the 5 mins went up and I assumed this was why Hughes was not happy as we didn't have any CBs on the bench (except Richards I guess) and i doubt Hughes was looking forward to playing 5 more mins without a defender?

Also, given that Kolo went down just before the board went up, bearing in mind the derby and the Bellers goal/celebration, should the 5 mins not have started when play restarted?

BTW, I am not complaining bout the injury time or the result, I just don't think that Hughesy was annoyed as he wanted to scarper asap with only a point. Was just wondering...

I was hoping for as much injury time as we can get because I think we are a winning team now and the players have a mentality to win every game they play. In today's case I think it was down to Toure's injury (or at least I would like to think so) that Hughes wanted the game to end sooner.

When it comes to tied games and injury time, I think we should go for the kill.

The last few minutes villa just slowed down and looked like they wanted the point, i personally as city manager would of pushed for the win, villa looked knackered and adebayor had a field day all night, i would of pumped it in and give him the chance to win the header, instead we just played keep ball along the middle, teams like the rags, chelsea, bin dippers and arsenal go their for 3 points, we have to be more positive.

Anyone else hear Hughes on 5live after the game? Was disappointed cos the ref didn't give 6 mins (he he)

Over to you Baconface.........

But I think that when we brought on RSC the AIM was to go for the second, (although I kind of forgot he was on the pitch after the initial 5 mins of thinking "Give it to Roque, give it Roque" ust to see what he could do.

I think we were going for it, but then we were faced with playing 5 mins against a home side with 10 men and one CB. Which is not ideal. I do think we were pushing for a win.

he would have looked abit silly if he didnt complain imo, everypaper would say hughes dont mind 5 mins extra time as long as city score...i also think it was a half hearted whinge as we had the ball most of the time.
