The 60s and 70s

It's soulless now bud, go to any area and the same big shops are there with the smattering of charity shops to fill up the gaps. Going further back playing on the road because cars weren't taking every inch of the road up, riding a bike without having to fight the traffic.
You forgot the vaping shops. And people selling those "cheap" international calls sim cards.

That's when I grew up and I have very fond memories of both decades. And, I guess that for many of us the most exciting times of our lives are when we are growing up? I've had plenty of good times since and done new things but if I see a band play a live set now (if only), I've seen over 1,000 sets before; in 1972, it was the first time...

Plenty of things were definitely better then but others weren't.

Born in Hulme, 1949 in the old terrace housing, no inside bog or bathroom. Moved up market to Moss Side in 59; f..king freezing in winter with no central heating, walked to Whaley Range for school in ALL weathers. The only good bit of that time was when I left school and started going to all the clubs in the 60’s. Brilliant they were, Twisted Wheel, Rowntree Sound, Takis, Stax, all nighters, all dayers. Piccadilly at 2am Sunday morning was busier than 2pm Saturday.

No thanks, better of now.
Whalley Range?
