The Album Review Club - Week #147 - (page 1941) - ???? - ????

Given the 'favorite find' criteria for nomination, I doubt that album was going to be on many lists by its very nature. No matter what the stance, most had probably heard it prior to the Editor's Pick. Probably also why there was no Pearl Jam Ten and others similarly listed too.

I suspect one would have to be in a fugue state for OK Computer to qualify for nomination there. Given the overnight events, that also doesn't sound half bad right now either.

Ten was probably the closest to a 'Never Seen Star Wars' experience for me on the thread. I knew the singles but had never heard the whole album. Slightly bizarrely I was more familiar with some of EVs solo work.

It would have been KISS as I've never knowingly listened to one of their albums and would be pushed to name more than a couple of songs, but it was before my time on the thread.

@Coatigan, I don't want to cast aspersions but the two albums near the top that seem to have outperformed their original scores on the thread appear to be by Frightened Rabbit and Idles ;-)

Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith say hi ;)

The budos band coulda been in there as well but someone shat the bed!

Haha! In fairness that should have attracted more points based on it's quality and it's thread score, I feel bad about it now!

I would have expected it to come higher than both of those, tbf. One person's top choice (i.e a 5) can really make a difference all of a sudden. For example, chappel roan, one vote, boom 17. Or a bunch of mid table 3s. Was interesting seeing it all rank out.

I've listened to the first Led Zeppelin album once a few months ago so can easily believe they are an overlooked band. I argued in the I Should Coco review that my generation of indie kids thought they were not a credible band. I knew of them from Wayne's World and Top of the Tops and a Godzilla movie.

I know a bit more of Aerosmith as my wife ran with a bit more of a rock crowd but again you're in Wayne's World ........... ummmmm world......so not a credible band when I was growing up.

My top 5 from the playlist has to feature a 1&2 from IDLES. Im into them at the minute sorry

1) The Wheel - IDLES
2) New Sensation - IDLES
3) The Enchanter - The Budos Band
4) Heat Above - Greta Van Fleet
5) under the pressure - war on drugs

5th place was a tough choice. I didn't dislike any of the songs on the playlist but not much else caused me to take notice. The Yawpers and Bad//Dreems tracks had an early vibrancy that didn't last. The Greta Van Fleet track reminded me of Let My Love Open The Door in some of the early phrasing
