The Album Review Club - Week #147 - (page 1942) - Blonde On Blonde - Bob Dylan

Couple of snippets of Family Spires response to holiday playlist inspired by this thread.

Not (yet?) buying JJ Cale and are particularly outraged it outscored Revolver.

Surprise package - Greta Van Fleet, including the comment 'well at least they are not completely up themselves like Led Zep'!!!

Quite aggrieved that Pixies didn't even make a top half finish.

They clearly have taste!!

While we are waiting for the votes to come in on this week's selection, a quick update.

BimboBob isn't going to be able to make a nomination this week, so that means that we have reached the end of the current round. If anybody hasn't nominated this round, and that includes any people reading this thread who'd like to select an album, let me know in the next 24 hours.

Otherwise we are into an "end-of-the-round" phase. Given that we are deep in summer holiday season, some people are away already and I'll be away again soon, I'm happy to put this thread on hold until the first week of September.

However, if there is an appetite for any kind of playlist/guessing game, I'll happily organise that so that it runs for the next few weeks.

I'm up for a playlist while on hiatus before the re-start. We have a good 3 or so weeks, so it wouldn't be rushed.

Ultimately, couldn't really get into this album unfortunately. Good opening song, and a strong final third, but it lost me with the rest of it. Solid enough indie album, and if we are to draw comparisons, I'd describe it as a love-child between the National and the Local Natives. Both of which I like in small doses but similarly struggle with whole albums. Won't mind my algorithms adding this to the pool to occasionaly throw at me, but wouldn't actively re-visit. Enjoyed the obscurity of the unknown. A 5 I'd say.

Is that with or without the extra point for obscurity?

Not for me.Will not give a score due to it being worse than Rush.
Hated it from start to finish.
You've scored a few others low, why not this one?!!!
