The Album Review Club - Week #194 (page 1303) - Ants From Up There - Black Country, New Road

Could do a bonus guessing round. Predict the genre or half decade each poster will have gone for before Rob puts up the list. Assuming most are now locked in so safe to do so.

Mmmmm - spend the morning putting a sensible list together or…. finally make a start digging in the garden. Which will my wife let me get away with?

I suspect all entries are now in. Maybe one more will arrive.

Get 5 mins in and a back 'twinge' should do the job of freeing up a bit of time.

Mind last time I tried that Mrs spires pointed out that there was no evidence of a spade having been in use only the rotavator, and if I couldn't be arsed I should really just say so.

Go on I'll have a go..

Gornik - late 2000's synthpop
Coatigan - early 1970's torch and twang country
Rob - Early 80's industrial noise rock

Am I getting the hang of this yet?

I left clues on the new music thread. And an open book on the playlist thread.

Don’t they always know how to say the harshest things with minimal obvious intent?!

Rob is definitely shouty metal, Coatigan more a New Seekers cardigan vibe. I was going for an Icelandic dwarf rock/60’s mod mash up but didn’t want to steal your thunder!

I started creating 'new' genres for posters but got as far as

Hebridean Crofting Emo for Coats, Contrariancore for Bimbo, Bushism (more of a religion than genre) for Sadds2

and then thought I'd best stop :-)

Does Mull Historical Society count? Didn't live up to their debut did they.

Just assume all of the album club regulars are in.

Saddleworth2, Out on Blue 6, stoneblue, Mancity111 and mancity2012_eamo are also playing.
That's a strong list that. I'd say regulars that will chime up when they've got something to add, and usually it's a good take.

Can we guess which regular hasn't yet submitted?

Are they perhaps stuck in the FOG? ;-)

We can guess who the first second and third to PM Rob were! ;)

Bloody hell mate. How did you know I like Kate Bush music. I thought I had kept that well hidden.
Rob, can I change my track please.

Ha, forgive me @RobMCFC and the rest -- my last kid graduated from high school yesterday so running around quite a bit the last few days!

Submitted now.
