The Album Review Club - Week #195 (page 1310) - A New World Record - ELO

Great eclectic mix of a playlist, thanks to the contributors and Rob for putting it together,I’ve really enjoyed this as I do like a good playlist for introducing me to new artists I hadn’t heard of before, songs by artists I know of but haven’t listened to and a few old favourites.

A few surprises for me

The Be Good Tanyas not a fan of many female bands/vocalists but I love this track and have listened to more of their out put.
KC never been a fan but like this, reminds me of some of David Byrne solo stuff especially Adrian Belews vocals.
Steve Forbert, I’m a massive fan but this was a big disappointment I know it’s a cover but he’s written so many great songs, I’d recommend any of his early albums as an introduction.
Never heard of Welshy Arms but this track sounds familiar a bit like Paolo Nutini.
The Walkmen never heard of them but again a good song.
Joe Walsh a classic song that always puts a smile on my face.
I even liked the Latto track and The HU ,who are not really my tastes at all.

It's a good playlist.
Only one track I'd skip.
Have done a track by track thing but it would give away which tracks I chose. Not that I'm going to try and guess who picked the others as I just don't have the time to try.

There has been a severe lack of j'accuse, guessing, clarkying and fishing. Maybe people saving it for the final week.

Finally have my top ten songs sorted just fiddling with the order now.

A very varied selection and most enjoyable listening to them over 10 I had never heard before.

Have little idea regarding names to titles however.

Funny I was only listening to the The HU 's song on this list recently after multiple listens of their version of Sad But True.

They make some pretty high end music videos, if anyone has cared to look. No budget spared.

Would never have known about them if not for my nephew like me a mad early Metallica nut with a dash of Rammstein and very glad for the experience. I have seen a few now and will explore a few more.
