Have we signed anyone yet?
Txiki out.
Txiki out.
No clue how reliable the guy is (but seems highly rated on wherever that's posted from past info). But he also states further down Nasri & Yaya are out. Kinda figured Nasri might well be the most obvious of our attacking mids to drop back & fit into a deeper midfield role if we didn't sign another CM.
Gundogan £20m, Stones £40m, Laporte £40m, Sane £40m & Fabinho maybe £15m? Totaling £155m. Still think we're short of a CM there, so throw one more of them in & that could be a decent window, if a little underwhelming given what's been predicted so far.
If was easy it wouldn't be fun :-)Welp. I guess reality has finally set in for me. With Allegris statement about Pogba staying and this list looking very logical I'm ready to squash almost all hope of a worldly signing this window. It's not really what I wanted at all but it's probably the best thing to do for the club in the long term. I wonder what TH had us all worked up about if this ends up being close to what happens? I'll still hold out some hope though. Of course I'll be refreshing daily and I'm sure TH will get me worked up again. This forum is a total mind fuck.
The 5 is by no means a bad list but I suppose when you throw names like Pogba, Kroos and Barca players around it's going to be hard to meet them expectations.
The windows not even open yet so I imagine the list of who we're in for will fluctuate plenty over the months, and it seems fairly obvious we are interested in signing the likes of Pogba/Kroos etc. - perhaps just that our main transfer target list is a more realistic bunch. Hopefully we can get our deals done early & for good value, giving us time & breathing room to go for a statement signing as a cherry on top.Welp. I guess reality has finally set in for me. Luckily I'm abroad for 9 weeks soon so will avoid all the ups & downs, and return to a totally new look team.
Jeremy's Summer Predictions (self.MCFC)

It's been a while but I've decided to consult my crystal ball. And just to say that my crystal ball actually meets with Pep unlike Tolmie's Wig. So you can be sure that our sub is more ITK than anywhere else. Some of this is confirmation, some new. Here we go. Joe Hart. Can be coached to Pep's system Centre Backs. Stones no 1 target. La Porte also wanted. Get both, Mangala prob gone. I like Mangala. Too bad. Ageing backs will leave. Fabinho wanted. Gundogan coming but we all know that. Sterling, a Pep project. Good. Paired with Sane. Hooray! No big signings like Pogba etc because that's not Pep's style. So there you have it. 5 predicted signings. Let's hope we get them all. BTW wouldn't it be nice if Pep's first interview was with someone outside the football world? That would rock!

Did a search and this user got KDB and Otamendi spot on last summer. He says Sane, Stones, Gundogan, LaPorte, Fabinho (haven't heard that name since last summer)
Surely we won't go into a season with just the Fern's and a crocked Gundogan as our only CM's?
I would be seriously underwhelmed by that set of signings. City need to add some top, top quality, like Pogba and Kroos, for all kinds of reasons. As to Pep not requiring big signings, that is nonsense: some top, name players have been signed for him in the past and he has inherited in one way or another big name players. Pep wants players of the highest quality and he won't not want them because they cost a lot or are well known.
I've long maintained that stance as well. I refused to believe that Stones, Laporte, Sane, Gundogan, and some other mid level signing would be how it played out but unfortunately that's probably going to be what happens. Lot's and lot's of time left of course but my confidence of landing Pogba and or Kroos has drastically plummeted and I'm not sure who else could

They're not mid level signings though, that's why the top teams are after the likes of Laporte, Gundogan, Sane etc. We went to the CL semi finals with the side that we had and with 5 additional, younger and hungrier starters, we can push all the way. Look at supposed start 11 next season and it's one of the best in Europe and hands down the best in England.
Indeed, the fact that Barcelona wanted Gundogan for last couple of seasons should tell you he is the furthest thing from a mid level signing.
Yup, same way Bayern are hot on our tails for Sane. I remember Bayern also wanting another of our targets last season and I'm sure he's not been too shabby since.

please tell them not to expect any miracles if we signed up this set of players. It's OK to say we were CL semi finalists but do we forget too quickly that we were almost knocked out of CL football by a very wank team? Yep, not to mention the clubs that are interested in Stones. I think for a lot of people its about the name or rep.
I think Gundogan will make a bigger difference for us than Pogba could on the pitch.

got to be sizzling hot in attack and CM.
Just look at Arsenal, one more brilliant signing in attacking positions and they are far ahead of us. Sane is a brilliant prospect but we also need players beside him who have matured to take some pressure off his shoulders. Also there's no need spending another 80 to 90 million on CBs. Just have the midfield and indeed the entire set up well organized and defenders will do better. Not sure what both Laporte and Stones will do any better than the players we currently have....said too much already
