well, that's a prod at Txiki's poor recruitment more than anything.

Fact is we've played a LB at CB throughout pre-season, I think that sums up where that "£300m" has really got us.

It's arrogant to expect that we can just put out a team and expect to win against "fucking Sunderland". It was "fucking Leicester" who won the league last season, who proved you need the right squad and the right players in each position, we don't have that at the moment and it needed fixing before today, but desperately so now. Saturday will bring a much higher risk of a defeat as a result.

We have Kompany, Otamendi, Mangala, Denayer and Adarabioyo all natural centre halves, at least 3 of whom could have started against Arsenal if Pep wanted to.

The fact he played Kolarov at CB means exactly fuck all in regards to or recruitment and if you can't tolerate Pep experimenting in preseason friendlies then you might want to take a break for three years because he's going to do stuff like that in league games too. Or champions league knockout games. Or cup finals.

It's the coach, that's what he does. He's experimenting to see who can play where so he can Change formations on the bounce in the middle of a game, or to teach the players something specific that they'll learn better in that position.
