A an aside Zinedine Zidane is homing in on a rare league win for Madrid in an era dominated by Barca, not to mention a consecutive CL success, the question that springs to mind is whether Zidane is a football genius like Pep or were they both beneficiaries of having an exceedingly good team.

Guardiola left a legacy behind at Barca, that football they played will be talked about for years. Both Zidane and guardiola are both fortunate to inherit brilliant players, it was always going to be hard for pep with some of they deadwood we have. We could of gone for a more defensive manager like Conte or simeone for this season which would of gave us a better chance of the title. The owners want us playing beautiful football though so peps had to stick with his methods and make use of the players he's got. He's here to change the clubs mentality and give us an identity like Barca had a few years back.

Yup we have to score a lot just to be on the safe side . Dippers have tendency to score boat load or slip .You never know with those fuckers.
 
If we win two games of football we finish third.

If we win one game of football and draw another we might finish third but definitely fourth.

If we don't get the required points we only have ourselves to blame, but we are in charge of our own destiny.

However I still haven't got over that dogshit second half against Leicester, even though we won.

You can't ever have played football at a professional level Bill. If you seriously believe that a professional player starts a match thinking he's got a better chance of scoring because of the guy in net you're kidding no-one but yourself. There's a lot more that needs to happen before that opportunity even arises. By the time a potential goal scoring chance emerges the guy kicking the ball at goal doesn't give a shit who the keeper is, and certainly doesn't have time to think about the keepers attributes or C.V.

Perhaps on a dead-ball, free-kick or penalty scenario - but nothing more.

You make some fair points, some people have been harsh on Pep this season and I most certainly include myself in that list.

Interestingly what was your stance on those posters who bitched,moaned,cried, and outright insulted , very vociferously, our last two managers. Managers I don't need to remind anybody who were significantly more successful as well as more entertaining on the pitch than Pep?

"Senile old ****", "fucking corpse" ring a bell? (those taken from threads all season long, including the league cup final post thread after the corpse had the temerity to pick a goalkeeper who single handedly won us the cup).

Against my better judgement I am prepared to write this season off as a learning exercise.

Next season, no excuses. None. Failure to win the league and or the champions league would cement Pep as a complete failure in the English game. A flat track bully if you like.

If we're not looking good for a title win by Xmas he would have to be replaced, no excuses. Failure to do so would prove once and for all that the club believes they are not big enough to take him on and that's not acceptable.

I'm not sure thats true at the very top level. I remember hearing Dean Saunders (not exactly elite by PL standards) talking about the homework he did before a game regarding the weaknesses of the defenders and keepers he would be facing. He prided himself on knowing exactly how he could exploit their weaknesses, had a different game plan for every match. He would definitely have been fired up facing a dodgy keeper. I doubt that he would be alone among strikers in that respect.

That's bollocks. If the opposing team are not lifted by the omission of say a buffon or a lloris etc I'll show my arse. Any forward running in on goal would think twice when facing an imposing keeper.
