The Bayern Party

City play at home against a team who have already qualified.

I would not be a shock to see Utd and Chelsea go out, and City go through. I know Napoli could win away, but I am mot sure that they will find it easy to attack Villareal away from home
But first you have to beat Bayern! Sorry, but that's a typical thinking from your side (not from every fan of Man City!)

I think he is just hoping instead of saying it will be easy like he is some kind of fortune teller lol

That's a bit unfair of you. I am not dismissing Bayern. I am pointing out that City still have a chance, and that our rivals who have been so quick to poke fun at us may well go out themselves. We at least have home advantage, and if we can play as well in Europe as we have done in the League we will give you a good game.

Even though this game is out of our hands unlike the Hamburg one, regardless of what Napoli have to do it should be electric.

imo hamburg has always been slightly overated, it was top but not the way some people made it out to be.

Premiership is our main concern now, but for one night we still have a chance to qualify.

To be honest it's one of the biggest nights in the clubs history, regardless whether the Prem is first priority.

Even if we lose in the last 16 to Barca or anyone, it's being there and showing we can mix it with the best and we have the determination to do it.

keep the faith, believe and for one night think of as many positives as you can.

make this thread a sticky now.

That's absolutely ok!

I don't expect that Bayern will play with a 'B-Team'! Probably not with the normal 11, but still competitive!
It's also a matter of fair-play towards Napoli and there are €800k to earn...

-- Wed Nov 23, 2011 11:53 pm --

I didn't intend to be unfair to you! Sorry!

I don't doubt, that you'll give us a good game. And we'll have to fight to get a result!

Imagine the atmosphere if Villarreal went 1 nil up & we grabbed a goal after that to make it 1 nil, it'll be better than the Hamburg atmosphere.

But sod that, let's sing our hearts out for the full 90 minutes!

Make this a sticky...

I really like that Rodgriguez song, would be nice to get that going instead of the boring Sergio one.

Let's make it a proper atmosphere. Not the shoddy ones we've become accustomed to.

maybe
Sergio,Sergio Aguero scores a goal for me instead on maxi,maxi....

Also I hate FCUM but the come up with some good songs

Some lyrical genius' could make With 'I am a city fan, i'm a mancunian'

Think these would be good as we're lacking in songs, not chants, with only Oh balotelli and Hark now hear the full version

the day i sing an fc united of fucking bury song you can shoot me on the spot.

lets come up with something origanal ?

Yes because we didn't steal the Balotelli song from the dippers or anything

Heynckes won't be sending a kids team out, but as I've said I think he will rest three or four players.
I can see Olic or Petersen in instead of Gomez, Müller coming back in instead of Robben or Ribery.
Rafinha could be rested. They will all be on the bench though, not left at home.

There is now also no temptation to try and rush Schweinsteiger back into action as we are already through.

I Just want to start by saying thank you to all those who have contributed to the thread so far. I honestly thought this subject would be hit or miss, so its appreciated people keeping this at the top of the page.

I have gone through the thread this morning and there are some cracking idea's like making fancy dress, new songs etc. I'll leave the new songs for another thread, so this thread doesn't get clogged with all the Stock Aitken and Waterman wannabe's ;) (Younger one's may need google for that joke)

I reckon that this'll be a better atmosphere than if we'd beat Napoli and were through!

I sometimes get the feeling that sometimes our fans show their support more when things are going wrong rather then when we're winning! Which is rather different than some other clubs I could mention. A sort of we're City fans, we're not here for the glory, we're here for City and we don't need success to get us back week after week.

-- Thu Nov 24, 2011 11:00 am --

A six foot penis and a ring - sounds errr, well y'know. And a dolphin - not called Freddie is it? ;-)

I looked at the blue santa suits in a fancy dress shop a few weeks ago and I think you'll find they're royal blue rather than sky blue. The only sky blue ones I could find were bulk orders.

Looking forward to welcoming Bayern fans to Manchester for this game. They were fantastic hosts in Munich and I hope they enjoy it here as much as I did there.

A load of my mates from the Kleinostheim supporters club are going over for the City game and are looking forward to it with enthusiasm.
I've known some of them since the mid eighties, good lads they are. They can drink for Germany !

Let us not forget that three years ago we would not have dreampt of such a fixture.
When I watch some of the incredible atmospheres' created across Europe, I wonder what it would be like for the Etihad to be the only stadium in the Country to produce something similar.
I applaud anyone who is making an effort in this direction, Let us be loud and proud on the night, remember where we have come from, where we want to go, lets show the rest of the country we are special, colour, movement , noise, intensity, passion.
We are reaally here!

Good idea Ricster.
Not sure about the wording in the OP mind, 'for once lets get behind the team'.
I thought most of us have been doing that all season, especially those shelling out £100-plus on travel and tickets for the London aways.

Yeah, but over half the stadium are usually quiet as hell for the whole game. Would be nice for everyone to get involved.

A lot of that is due to the family element attending. Games used to be far more atmospheric twenty or thirty years agao when it was just lads and blokes.
These days home crowds often seem to be asleep apart from those behind the goal.

It's the same anywhere. Bayern make far more noise at away games too. Seven thousand Dortmund fans outsang Arsenal for 90 minutes last night.

We need to up it for the Bayern game. As for shelling out gone are those days of home, away and preseasons many of the aways were weekenders and were very expensive will lots of beer and sore heads. How I miss those days back in the late 70's and 80's. Due to marriage and four kids ,financial restriction are biting in at present and with travelling to all home games from over here in Yorkshire adds to costs.
