Thought they were born in Australia?

They were actually born in the isle of Man , before they moved to England at an early age , and then moved on to Austarlia.

Correct.
Their parents left Manchester for the IOM to escape the blitz and the boys (and a daughter) were born there and then the family came back to Manchester when they were all infant / primary school age.

The island even had a coin in their honour made in 2009

Shame if he has - briiliant songwriters and performers the lot of them - very underrated - loads of good songs but this has to be up there with the best of them
