Did I mention I'd been on Eggheads?
Spent a little time over the weekend checking out Chorlton's finest - no, not the disco stuff of Saturday Night Fever, but their late 60's early 70's stuff.
Was also amazed that they had written so many tunes for other artists in the late 70's / 80's, like Barry writing the lyrics for Frankie Valli's ''Grease'' for the film's soundtrack and Dion Warwick's 'Heartbreaker' and Barbara Streisand's 'Woman In Love' - which Barry also sang on.

At one point in the late 70's they had written all of the top 5 songs on the US charts in one week (3 Bee Gees, one Andy Gibbs song and one cover from Saturday Night Fever).
Indeed Andy Gibb is the only artist to have the first three singles go to No 1 in the States.
but back to the late 60's / early 70's stuff...... a few of my faves......

There is a place near where I live called Bee Gee's Way

Where they lived from late 50's

Bee Gees Way is located off Redcliffe Parade, Redcliffe and includes a life-size statue, 60 photographs, 13 album covers, a mural of the band as well as songs and captions provided by Barry Gibb.

My mums aunt's house backed on to theirs, on keppel road. She said they were little b*stards as kids.

Love the clive anderson video and how they say they're from moss side, and that they used to be called le tossers. Clive Anderson " You'll always be le tossers to me"

Classic.

Barry said in an interview once that the local police suggested to their parents that going to Oz would be one way of keeping them out of trouble with the law!
Here's the earliest (most likely) clip of them

Has anyone from the Isle of Man been on to put your straight about where they are from? They get a bit put out if you say the bee gees are from Manchester.
