The Best Start in Premier League History.

Don't know about Chelsea, but City carried on winning until games 13, 15, 18, 19, when we dropped points in our next 4 away games (Liverpool 1-1, Chelsea 1-2, WBA 0-0, Sunderland 0-1).

We also started to suffer from poor refereeing decisions, ridiculous red cards, and subsequent costly suspensions, during our busiest period, when we also faced United in the FA Cup, and Liverpool in the League Cup.
Agenda in play back then.

But this season we have a lot more positive media (more, being the main word because could hardly have less) that is setting us up for being rightful and deserved champions.

Powers that be couldn't risk possibly the "best ever" team not winning it this year through normal dodgy refereeing dealings. If we were 10-12 points ahead after half the season then to have PGMOL do the dirty would stand out beyond all normal scrutiny.

Anti-football champions beating arguably the "best ever" team does not help win TV deals.

Anybody who thinks it would be over with a 10 point lead after 11 games Or 12 or even 30 games hasn't been watching football long enough .

Most points in a season: 95, Chelsea (2004-05)

Most goals scored in a season: 103, Chelsea (2009-10)

Will be interesting to see how we compare to these two records at the end of the season.

Genuime question, has anyone had a 10 point lead after 11 games and not won it ?

93/94 - United had a 7 point lead after 11 games (42 game season), won the league by 8 points.
05/06 - Chelsea had a 6 point lead after 10 and 11 games, won the league by 8 points.
10/11 - Chelsea had a 5 point lead after 10 games, only had a 2 point lead after 11 games, United won the league by 9 points ahead of Chelsea.
11/12 - City had a 5 point lead after 10 and 11 games in 11/12, won the league on goal difference.
13/14 - Arsenal had a 5 point lead after 10 games, only had a 2 point lead after 11 games, City won the league by 2 points, 7 points ahead of Arsenal.
14/15 - Chelsea had a 4 point lead after 10 and 11 games, won the league by 8 points.

That's all the teams that have had a 4 point+ lead after 10 and 11 games.

Every team with more than a 4 point lead after 11 games has won the league, 2011/12 should be a lesson not to get carried away though.

Edit:
Although records are really pointless in this scenario because records are there to be broken. Lets not get ahead of ourselves.

We are fast approaching ‘we fucked it up’ territory if we don’t win it. A victory against Arsenal and it will be an amazing opening 12 games

The only team to have taken points from us this season had more players than us. That’s very fucking impressive

Records suggest that anything more than a 4 point lead after 11 games is enough, 2011/12 should be a lesson though.
What are the stats for having an 8 point lead with 6 games to go.....?
