The Bluemoon Song Cup 2023

Clearly the anti Smiths brigade out in force the last 24 hours.....

Lord forgive them for they know not what they hath done

Once upon a time Heroes was an interesting song, still not one of his greatest imo but an interesting sound, especially the guitars. But it's sort of been misappropriated by people who punch the air to it and who may also be inclined to punch the air to Bon Jovi songs too. Obviously you can hold your arms aloft to There Is A Light but this is generally done in a less brutish and more joyously chaotic fashion. Doubtless there will be other Bowie songs come along that I'm sure I will vote for, unless of course they are drawn against Frankly Mr Shankly.

I also like the humour and concise nature of Some Girls are Bigger Than Others

The competition has come to life! The heavyweight clash we've been waiting for.

Who to choose?! Two songs about love. One in the context of wider despair, misery and death and the other an affair.

Controversially in terms of their voices, I can't stand Bowie or Morrisey! The lyrics brilliant. The music epic. But their voices don't do it for me. Heroes is better though.
