Two great pop songs and an interesting match up. There's only 8 years between the two songs but they speak to different worlds and the changes in not only music but society. The faux innocence of the rubettes retro kitsch vs the ambiguity and unvarnished angsty world of Soft Cell.

Say Hello has some of the best lyrics of any 80s hit and they are delivered 'perfectly' by Marc Almond so it gets my vote.

I actually.played the 12 inch instrumental version of say hello....in the car this afternoon..... had a good sing along until the high notes kicked in and thankfully no one else was in the car.
I played it as it came to mind when @Banshee was trying to guess who my last 2 acts in the cup are.
