I know it was in relation to ticket prices, but was the boycott pretty much 100% observed? Seem to remember a completely empty stand for that game. What was the reaction the next season from Bolton?

Also, any pics of said empty stand?

Ta in advance....we only got a few seconds report of it over here.

Wasn't that the game in 2006/07?, January 2007 it was, I went and Joey Barton missed an empty net in about the 85th minute and it finished 0-0.

I went to it - I'd already bought my ticket before the boycott got announced.

Lots of people didn't go but it wasn't a complete boycott. Some people took the attitude that they were going to see City whatever. A shame, as a complete boycott would have sent a real statement to clubs and the football world in general.

However the Wigan no-show certainly had an impact as they put the price up from £25 to £40 and instead of taking 6,000 only about 1,800 went. Dave Whelan may be a lot of things but he's a businessman and realised after that that 6,000 x £25 was a lot better than 1,800 x £40.

Yes, we sold about 1500 in the Upper tier but the bottom tier was empty.

Thats the image I remember from the brief TV clip...didnt show the upper tier so assumed it was a complete boycott.

It was never a 'boycott' as such. Just alot of people, including me, couldnt be arsed paying that price.

I think over 1000 still went mind you

Oops.

Wigan was the same as well, when we got hammered 4-1.

Didn't they raise the prices by £20 for just away fans?

Four - ONE?!

That would suggest we had a shot on goal that day. The great pretenders masquarading themselves as MCFC definitely did not score that day, even with Vassell, Dickov, Corradi and Samaras on the pitch at once. YES! FOUR STRIKERS!

I didn't go to that Bolton game as I had to play instead, but I'm sure there was over 1000 there. Was never much of a boycott, just a bit of a mumbling on Bluemoon and maybe written about in KOTK - if Facebook and Twitter were more widely used round Xmas 2006 then it might have worked.

If QPR are going to charge the alleged £60+ for City fans is that not worthy of a boycott?

Nah. QPR hasn't been done for years and it's a small allocation in a great part of the capital.

If Wigan, Bolton and Blackburn were to charge £38 upwards then I would contemplate boycotting.

Ahhh yes, my mistake, it was 4-0.

I remember Dunne scoring an OG (what a surprise) in the first minute or something like that.

Heskey scored a volley after a minute... Dunne scored an OG after 2 mins.

And people moan about City these days!

Weaver, Mills (Vassell 60), Richards, Dunne, Jordan, Sinclair, Johnson, Hamann (Dickov 46), Barton, Samaras, Corradi.

Goals: Heskey 2, Dunne 4 og, Camara 65, Valencia 67.

Pretty shocking day that.

Just a sidenote, Danny 'the thief' Mills is probably the worst fullback and gobshite to ever play for City

Michael Johnson's first XI debut as well, wasn't it?

While not disagreeing with you, it was Matt Mills that day, mind you he was nearly as bad!
