So he's claimed he flew to Milan and was offered a job with us by Mancini,Bobby however said he doesnt know him and may have met him in passing on one occassion...very strange!

I don't know, sorry. He's a miserable guy though. This is what he looks like when he's jolly...

Money talks in football, but Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers has no regrets about turning a deaf ear when he had the chance to cash in with mega-rich Manchester City.

Rodgers said: “I talked to City last year, after I had left Reading. I went over to Milan to meet Roberto Mancini. It went well and I was ready to join him,” revealed Rodgers.

“But then the job at Swansea came up. I could have earned three times as much going to Manchester.

“But my gut feeling was for Swansea. Happiness is more important than money.”

Swansea make their big-time bow tomorrow – and there can hardly be a more dramatic introduction to football’s wealth divide for the little Welsh club than a trip to the Etihad Stadium.

But it’s that challenge that excites Rodgers, who even shocked his Swansea chairman by turning down a pay rise this summer!

Rodgers is on a one-year roll-over deal worth around £250,000, and said: “I told the chairman: ‘Let’s just see how things go this year’.

“I’m happy, my family’s happy. All the money in the world can’t buy you that.”
