He knocked on my door yesterday. Told him that I'd been a Conservative voter for the last 20 years which he seemed very pleased about and thanked me for.

I then told him I'd never vote Conservative again (at least whilst this current lot are around). I started to tell him why but he made a rather hasty retreat before I could get ranting at him.
 
Just been reading about that Tory candidate in Tamworth, I've noticed since UKIP took them over the quality of their candidates has fallen dramatically, they seem to be put up half educated right wing nutters oh well never mind as they say

It's difficult to gauge why Sunak does what he does, he's just very bad at politics, at every level. Theresa May was poor but she was a politician, she wasn't unhinged, nothing she did was a mystery, there was a logic to it, even if you disagreed with it, but Johnson, Truss and Sunak, in their different ways, are damaged individuals.

These three arseholes are a product of a sick party, an irresponsible party, in hoc to a divisive fantasy ideology completely at odds with the daily lives of ordinary people. They operate in a parallel world that exists entirely in their head, it's why nothing they say or do makes sense. These Tories and not worthy of government, they're a Poundland version of the Republicans in the States.

The venality of Johnson and the madness of Truss are beyond dispute, but Sunak is difficult to pin down, there's something dead about him, he's like one of those pod people in Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

He is an inexperienced politician elevated too far too highly far too quickly. He is bad at politics hence he hasn't the nowse to spot and employ capable advisers - to be honest even as a local councillor he would be fond out in short order.

True, he's clearly badly advised, but his position is unenviable. He's never faced the electorate as a potential PM, He was even rejected by the Tory membership in favour of the mad Truss! He's despised by a mutinous cabal of Tory MPs, and the country is in the shitter with his fingerprints all over it.

In the face of what my old man called "the bleedin obvious" he's decided that the best course of action is denial. I agree he's clearly risen to his level of incompetence, but it's more than that, this is more than a man out of his depth, he looks like a man withdrawn, prone to periodic flurries of unhinged activity.
