The Conservative Party

Ask yourself one question. If the world is heading in one direction what are you doing to stop it? You ain't a victim of such nonsense but a contributor.

And by you I mean your country not you.
No doubt.
We have two traditional enemies in bed with each other along with the greens to keep out Sinn Fein who are now the biggest party north and south of the border.

And I reckon this suits Sinn Fein, as they can remain in opposition.

As I said mate. We have our problems.

Can’t get my head round that
It's the Tories' only hope now. Persuading people that there is no alternative to corruption, sleaze, incompetence and general nastiness. It obviously has worked on a disturbing number of people, but some are just Tories who project their nastiness onto others.

Perhaps the word I should have used is frustration. Corbyn was so useless he couldn't even beat May. Labour has been ineffective for years. They have hardly landed a blow on the biggest bunch of crooks we have ever seen. In many ways they have been as backward-looking as the Tories. More than anything we need an opposition with vision and a modernising agenda. They have to step up.
It's hard to land a blow when "the biggest bunch of crooks we have ever seen" have a huge majority and refuse to answer questions at PMQ, and when "the biggest bunch of crooks we have ever seen" are perfectly happy with corruption if it keeps them in power.

Not forgetting that the bunch of crooks largely have the mainstream media in their pockets.

@bobbyowenquiff is falling for their propaganda, that is, ‘Labour is shit, never mind the sleaze and corruption, vote for us.’

I used to be a Tory voter because of my time in the military as they historically supported defence and when Labour had the likes of Corbin at the helm I’d rather have burned by ballot paper than vote for that ****

Now I just want what’s best for the country..
Well that’s a bit of a cliffhanger on which to end. ;-)

Bizarrely, I've seen a few Tories mention that "no money left" note from 2010 recently. Andrea Ledsom said yesterday that the reason Rishi hasn't yet delivered on any of his promises was because "Labour left us with no money"!

Apparently it's been floated in focus groups, and people still believe it, so they're genuinely considering blaming the last 13 years of shitshow austerity, Brexit, Truss, and economics that even most big businesses despair of, on Gordon Brown.

I was amazed, but mentioned it to a few people, who all said that they know Tory voters who still go on about it all the time, whenever anything is wrong :/

We have no money because the party who bigs itself up on financial propriety blew billions - Truss/Covid/Brexit/Smart Motorways/HS2/High end tax avoidance the list goes on and on - time for the STories to fuck off - 13 years and look where we are.

The Tory Party inherited a difficult situation and made it worse.

Comparable countries did not go down the doctrinaire austerity route, or certainly not to the same extent. It was a sham. The objective was to reduce the size of the state using austerity as an excuse. They did not understand the macroeconomic consequences, or if they did, they did not care. The objective was to make the rich even richer, and in that, they have succeeded admirably.

Most people do not understand macroeconomics. They just knew it was hurting. That pain was a major factor in getting us the disastrous Brexit. Indeed, many voted for Brexit as a way of 'getting back' at Cameron and Osborne. (Osborne was arguably the worst Chancellor since WW2.)

The result has fucked us even further economically while dividing the country as nothing else has done since religion stopped being contentious. In some ways, this suits the Tories. They thrive on division and chaos, not least in their private moneymaking schemes.

The great British public is easily conned. Just give them someone to blame.
