The Conservative Party

Everything is so bloody depressing at the moment.
Was speaking to 23 year old woman yesterday when I was at work. She has a 3 year old son and is 20 weeks pregnant.
She is waiting for rehousing because her ex partner is violent, and knows where she lives. She has been classed as priority by the social housing association she is with but weeks later nothing is happening.
Told her to approach her MP.
"What's that?" she asked
"Member of Parliament"
"What's that?"
Hate it when someone gets what they need because their MP raised it as an issue. Either what they were asking for was there all along or someone else missed out.

Ludicrous. We have 150 000 people sat in hotels just crying out to get out and work but instead of processing them quicker we bring over people from 1000's of miles away.

I don't think it happens very often. MPs do just that - 'raise it as an issue" - so they can tell constituents they've raised it as an issue, but if it worked at (e.g.) jumping a housing queue, everyone on the list would contact their MP. Sometimes a letter from an MP can unblock a logjam or speed up a process but they can't get the criteria for housing priority changed.

I was going to ask whether many of the 150,000 wanted farm work, but I'm sure they could find 200 (the site capacity) from that 150,000.
Awaits one of the few remaining Tories telling us the 150,000 just want to sit in a hotel all day rather than work.
