The Conservative Party

It doesn't need a dentist with five years' training to teach how to brush teeth. The cheap, easy option seems OK. But it's not really what a teacher trains for either.

Anyway, never mind kids - it used to be "up and down, up and down, till they're nice and sparkly", now it's "down from the upper gum, up from the lower gum", or "just let the rotating brush head do the work".
Hard to make that into a jingle?

Another minister being interviewed using the labour party would take us back to square one and no interviewer challenging him on what that actually means , they wont have an answer as it just a slogan but why arent they asked

Sunak on this morning today , bet he says the same thing multiple times

Square one is 100x better than whatever we have now anyway haha.

There are plenty of other people in school these days, but also I think the idea is to actually get the kids to brush their teeth at school regularly, rather than just teach them once.

I know the teacher's unions have come out against it, but if the situation is so bad, then I'm sure something can be worked out. There's nowhere else where the kids all have to go to on a regular basis, and a more holistic approach to the skills kids learn at school wouldn't be a bad thing in my view.

It's such a bizarre slogan. Didn't the woman who Rishi laughed at in the street, ask why we just didn't take things back to when they worked.

I bet lots of people would be happy with "Let's get back to square one" as a positive slogan these days.

As there's nothing of note for the Tories to point out as a success it's difficult to see the logic of "back to square one". It's just desperate bullshit.

corn syrup is a major ingredient in products aimed at kids, the "sugar lobby" ensures it is never in the dock over it's effect on dental decay. The dentist cartel that makes the UK the dearest in Europe ( anyone remember the Simpsons' "book of "English smiles") is also complicit. Blaming disfunctional parents is a skirmish in culture warfare, will achieve nothing but a smoke-screen for the "divert and deny" policy that is the age-old standby of the tories. SNAFU.

Tories want teachers to show pupils how to clean their teeth then bring back a updated version of home economics as part of the curriculum. Hour lesson a week showing them all stuff to do with self presentation and basic skills such as self sufficiency in preparing for life and basic financial budgeting.

Then again if they did that we'd have a generation of sensible kids who wouldn't piss their cash up the wall and invest it in themselves rather than max up credit card debts for life.
