The Conservative Party

That certainly was the case in the past, but over the last year or so I have heard a few reports from those who study politics much more than I do, who suggest that this is certainly waining and isn't as much a factor as ten or even 5 years ago.
How accurate they are remains to be seen.
It seems inevitable. 10 years ago at the age of 50 you could have your mortgage on your own home paid off, no student or other debt, kids grown, left home and not coming back in their late 20s because they can't afford rent etc etc. And easy to retire to the EU. Or to the coast here without swimming in sewage. Etc etc.

They won’t see power for decades once the blue rinse brigade have moved onto pastures new judging from that poll.

You’re forgetting that when Labour are in power than will face a tsunami of hate and accusations, there will be sleeze, migration problems, unemployment, economy etc

Politics will always go round in circles.

We have sleaze now. We don't have enough people coming here to work now to fill posts in care and other areas

When Labour were in power our education and health systems were better funded. Waiting lists were cut. Not perfect but not the cost of living crisis and high inflation that we have now due to gross mismanagement of the economy exacerbated by Brexit and wasteful Tory spending and corruption.

Indeed , don’t deny any of that.

But there will always be certain issues that the media/public latch onto with a party and the snowball starts.

You think Labour will stay in power for decades and everything will be smooth sailing ? Especially into days social media world ?
no party has any chance of getting any praise or respite after a few years in power.

Yes there is a shortage. The practise I attend lost two a married couple - who went back to Romania and a Polish lass who replaced them didn't hang around for long either.

There was actually a 2.3% increase in NHS-registered dentists last year, but it doesn't matter, because of those, they are doing less and less NHS work. Nearly half of the 24,000-odd dentists have cut back on the amount of NHS work they do.

There are also reports that 45% of dentists in the UK are planning on cutting back the amount of NHS work they do. Of course, all of this leaves a complete mess for those who stay, meaning overwork and burnout, leading to more dentists retiring early or leaving the country like yours (especially since someone who would have been able to work without issue in the UK now has to jump through a load of hoops and pay a bunch of money to come - but then this is what Brexit-voters wanted).

People become more conservative when they have something to conserve. Unfortunately, the Tories have fucked up the economy so much that there's an entire generation with no assets who therefore aren't going to vote for them. Which 40 year-old with two kids and a rental house is going to vote Tory?

There's also the fact that the Tories have massively failed on things they traditionally claim to be good at: law and order, tight immigration (hence all the oldies going even further right-wing to Reform UK), supporting businesses, all shit.

Even if they fix everything and do an amazing job, creating a prosperous country, loads of people will go "Hang on, I'm doing alright for myself now. Why should I be paying all this tax to support other people?" And then the whole sorry cycle starts again.

They are done

I suspect that Reform UK vote is bollocks though. People are answering what their preferred party is, but when push comes to shove, how many of those Reform UK 'voters' will actually vote Tory because they know Reform don't have a chance of winning the seat?

Teachers put in the same position as the police, expected to plug the gaps in other frontline services that are no longer there.

In some instances they may actually be the better option but only if they are sufficiently funded with the relevant specialists; but as you say it's nothing to do with having the most effective service it's about papering over the cracks caused by cuts in other areas.
Agreed “papering over the cracks caused by cuts in other areas “ The cuts in other areas are quite vicious especially around vulnerable children and poor families. It’s heartbreaking it takes Rashford to try and take on the government to feed children in lockdown and holidays.

Schools had a dedicated nurse who used to take on inspecting for Nits the “NIT NURSE” over 11 yrs schools had a permanent nurse on the premises for any health problems growing children had.
Nothing is more important than the next generation to grow up healthy and free from health related problems that will mean they are hampered in the job market and need to fall back on state benefit

Even when we were in the EU, a British dentist who'd qualified and practised in Germany had to requalify to practice here. But let's make it even harder.
