suits me fine - the more they burn up electoral capital and goodwill and piss voters off the bigger will be their defeatTory bastards being Tory bastards.
I would hope so but they'll dangle a carrot. Called Keith a **** and get back in. And forget about the carrot.suits me fine - the more they burn up electoral capital and goodwill and piss voters off the bigger will be their defeat
Universal Credit is corporate welfare.
Conservatives are not opposed to welfare per se, they would just prefer it didn‘t go to the poor, or as we have seen recently, to feed poorer children.
Labour motion to extend £20 uplift to universal credit passes by 278-0.
Well done to Keith.
Tories u turning yet again.
Too frightened to support their own policies.
That's not leadership.
Being terrified of the public to the point of not enacting your own policies because of a bit of backlash is absolutely terrible government.Labour motion to extend £20 uplift to universal credit passes by 278-0.

The Tories abstained so they could claim Labour were politicking in a time of crisis.Labour motion to extend £20 uplift to universal credit passes by 278-0.

There mouthpieces have been out all day saying how wonderful UC is, apart from it being a total disaster, years overdue, full of holes, discriminatory , unfair and down right fucking insulting they have a point.
Anything that lying moron IDS touches has disaster written all over it, plus he had Grayling as a sidekick for a while helping (honest) and that fucking scouse witch off the TV with the decent knockers patronising people, so obviously what really did people expect.
The strange thing is in theory it is actually a fairly decent idea, it is just the morons who tried to carry it out that fucked it up by adding stupid fucking clauses because they have no idea what happens in the real world.
Read the whole thread of tweets - its a tragi-comedy involving two cheeks of the same arse completely out of touch with each other and reality. The Tory Party is no longer a political party merely a bunch of dissident groups arguing with and against each other against a back drop of a pandemic, Brexit, rising unemployment, collapsing businesses which also has an obsession with statues
Didn't IDS create that bill whilst he was bumming McVey?The Tories abstained so they could claim Labour were politicking in a time of crisis.

Payne is the lovechild of Michael Gove and Briefcase Wanker from the Inbetweeners.
It's tragic how Tories are so stupid they can't edit their WhatsApp group.still an interesting read

Listened to LBC today whilst working. Caller after caller shocked at how little support UC and JSA offer, how poor the system is - day in day out the excluded - said to be 3mil now rumoured to be much more as loads have been denied furlough too- as I keep saying they are pissing off so many voters with not a care in the world thats how out of touch with the real world they really are.
The idea that abstaining from a vote is not politicking is a laugh too. And I'd agree the idea that consolidating all benefits into one system/place makes perfect sense - I'd imagine progressive countries with developed welfare states such as those in Scandinavia probably have a simple, fair, welfare system accessible on line for their citizens.
