Households in receipt of certain benefits will get a tax-free bonus of £10 this Christmas as a little boost to help families over the winter months.

The extra support is available to people already claiming at least one of a series benefits, from Carer's Allowance to Pension Credits.

The £10 is typically paid to people claiming support in the first full week of December, and won't affect any other entitlements you have.

It may only be £10, but it could be very much appreciated by anyone counting the pennies this winter

Don't worry, while several (non tory) councils go bankrupt and are getting told to sell off parks to developers and close more libraries and community centres by these tossers, we can be told about johnsons 3rd speach at COP26 repeating the same shit from the main news.

As important as the issue is, onpy covering that and ignoring the shit they are doing is poor political journalism
 
They are currently all invested in hard lobbying and briefing to ensure Owen Paterson isn't suspended from the HoC despite him breaking the rules - corrupt party - snouts in the trough - Tory lies

It’s things like this that makes me question how anyone who voted for Brexit due to wanting parliamentary sovereignty can also support the conservatives, given they’re doing all they can to remove all of the safeguards and procedures that make our parliament remotely worthy in the first place.

It seems to me that waving a flag and saying ‘sovereignty’ a lot is the height of their understanding.
The finer points of being bent over and well and truly shafted is a bit beyond them.
