The Conservative Party

Govt in disarray? They never get out of it. There's an argument it's a strategic thing to prevent reflection or let discussion and debate take their course.

If the topic changes every 24 hours with another headline grabbing decision, controversial statement, or dramatic U turn, then the narrative never settles down, and the normal judgment and decision making processes of the electorate never get going.

I've seen it elsewhere, it happens in management, relationships, all sorts. Constant upset and drama, keep everyone spinning in circles to prevent them making the natural decision to get rid of the source of the problem.

Its been like this since day and this is Johnson in a nutshell and this is how his own personal lives plays out his wives, mistresses, kids, and the kids he doesn't admit.

when barely half the electorate vote, the system is broken, fucked, kaput. Until it's fixed, and penalties applied for blatant rule-breaking,
then nothing will improve. The tories will fight any change to the bitter end, as would labour before they became irrelevant, the libs and green would have a louder voice, and the UK could claim to be a democracy. Not holding my
breath, these twats have got away with murder since their inception...

It’s the same diversionary tactics used by the end-of-the-pier show magicians.
Make you look one way, while the real action takes place somewhere else away from prying eyes.
Come to think of it, this lot are just a bunch of cheap tricksters and shabby frauds.
I wish they were on the end of a pier.

It is tragic his wife saw suicide as the only way out. However he forgot to mention the corporate interests bunged her a bit of cash too.

She was there for the ride up (working in his office as assistant etc) but didn't want to stay for the ride down.

I can't say I'm particularly sympathetic towards toffs topping themselves because of reputational blowback when they realise they are caught up in sleaze which they have previously turned a blind eye to.

The primary person to blame for his wife's death is Mr Paterson himself.

Be a few more reports coming out soon about the corrupt bastards.

Several are due on Johnson himself hence the effort to use this to get the committee chair ousted - this is a massive miscalculation by the Cabinet Office - change of chair was the goal - the Paterson investigation was the vehicle to get to that destination and they thought they could involve everyone in it - when Labour - LD and all the rest said we want nowt to do with it they suddenly looked around and realised they were about to set up a kangaroo court labelled "Property of the Tory Party" and thought oh shit this won't look good......................

And let's drag other parties into specific Tory sleaze.

No wonder the system is broken if your critical faculties have gone.

I’m sure there will, this’ll pale into insignificance compared to some of the VIP lane covid cases I imagine. Even so though, just this one on its own should see a few more resigning really.

The people who got Johnson into power, the Brexit-voting red wall, simply curl their lips and say "they're all bent" when they hear stuff like this. It's cognitive dissonance and is preferable to them than admitting "I was conned".
Kwarteng was asked this morning about Tory morality, and said we got Brexit done so kept our word on that (except it obviously isn't done).

It has the potential to take Johnson down just like it took down Major. That's assuming that Starmer can play his political cards right, know he's on the ropes he really needs to hammer the message one 'rule for them and another for the rest of us' and every Labour MP to parrot the same message from now and until the election at every opportunity.

This is now a test of the unity of the opposition - not just Labour but the Lib Dems and every party - any council election - any by-election any general election they all have to go in studs up over the ball and play the man/woman - Tory sleaze - Tory lies - Tory failures have to be first and foremost on any leaflet - mail drop - speech .......and personalise it it - if its your MP if its your PCC if its your councillor and they have supported, said and done stuff that can be brought to the fore do it. The advantage of being an opposition minority is that they have fewer bullets to fire back at you. Nail the bastards because whilst they fling around accusations of playing politics they would do the same in a heartbeat

Starmer's said "Johnson is leading his troops through the sewer". That's as near as you can get to "lower than vermin" without calling them rats, or scum (which now hardly seems worth apologising for).

You have to wonder who is running it now?

cummjngs appeared to be running the show until he eventually went but less clear now.
