The Conservative Party

What - take the drugs all those years ago?

Yeah - that was down to him and I do not think that Boris or his mates had their minds on Gove all those years ago.

I do not think that Boris is that much of a long-term planner - you do him too much credit IMO;-)
No, fessed up of his own accord? Without some form of duress being imposed upon him conflated with a large dose of Hobson's Choice?

You seriously think he's simply decided to unload at this particular time for the good of his conscience and/or the nation?

Do you also think Johnson actually sneezed after snorting that line of 'icing sugar'?

Well, being serious for a moment, what I actually think is either:

a) He feels that he has a chance of the top job, but he has known/been recently made aware of the fact that his previous use of Class A drugs - at a time when he was hypocritically making policy on the issue, will come out now or at a future point - so he has decided to 'make a virtue of it' and clear the decks so that Corbyn or others can make something of it at GE time, or

b) He has been told that the likes of Bozza (as AC fondly refers to Boris - quite catchy) will out him and he has decided to be 'pre-emptive'

Of those 2 I would go for a). This because if it was b) the time to drop that into the public domain is not just yet

Can’t a) & b) essentially amount to the same thing?!

Well - yes, and no... Depends

Gove, could have been 'leaked' from the Boris camp that his misdemeanour would be put in the pubic domain or he could just feel the need to clear the air - as the other poster mentioned a book might be coming out.

Could be either of these things - or both

Raab's campaign manager admitted they leaked the story about Gove.

Hello Torymoon

Which fruitcake are you going to fuck us up with this time?

Those who put themselves forward look like they could be at a meeting of the Surrey branch of the AfD

You need to spend more time on the forum mate if you think it’s full of Tory supporters.

There’s more who will be voting for Labour, Lib Dem, Green and the Brexit Party, individually, than will be voting Conservative.

Can't believe that I ever supported this load of sh1te in the past. Hate the lot of them. This has been the most hateful bunch of nobodies ever. Non of them give a sh1te about anyone else but themselves and people like them. Boris is a prime example. Give more money to the better off because they are the ones who will vote for them. F..k the homeless and the poor who have to rely on food banks. Never been a supporter of communism or radical socialism but this lot are driving me towards it.

I think I know of 2 Tory voters on the politics forums - worsleyweb and chippy

Everyone else is left wing or a confused centrist like me trying to work out where the fuck I can put my cross

They may be the only 2 tory voters but there is a lot more right wingers and centre right on here than that probably 5-6 , same as there is about probably 5-6 deffinate lefties I would say rest are just milling about the centre wishing it was the 90s ;-)

I'd take Tony Blair or John Major for PM without any hesitation.

Same, on the current show I don't think I'd bother to vote.

It's bizarre but I'm interested in what is going on but not really in taking part!

This forum and these threads in the politics subforum are totally left dominated IMO - it is not even remotely balanced

This is also reflected in the - let's be polite and call it 'fervour' - in the posting styles

It is so unbalanced that centrist people like myself - from a totally Labour supporting background - get labelled 'right-wing'. I think that is simply because of the extent to which so many are strongly left-wing and are quick to brand anyone not as extreme as them to be right-wingers
