The Conservative Party

Boris will be laughing his bollocks off.

Ukraine has all but killed partygate. MPs know he's fucked up but won't put their letters in because "It unpatriotic during an international crisis."

If you haven't noticed the subterfuge is being ramped up at the moment. Deflection and whataboutery is everywhere. I am not dismissing this as an issue but surely you will have noticed the increase in culture war rhetoric over the last few days especially around the issues of who has a cock and what having a cock means. There is also an increase in shouting about eco protestors, these issues are designed to change the narrative from Partygate. The RW media are in full cry about issues they want you to consider as important, not the issues you think are important. Its brainwashing propaganda on a massive scale all designed to keep Johnson out of the firing line.

Attacks on Angela Rayner are being ramped up, many of which are misogynistic bullshit aimed at discrediting her because she is seen as a threat to Johnson. Some of the stuff i have seen about her makes the stuff wrote about Diane Abbot look tame.

Sunak fucked up his spring statement, but the coverage of it is hardly dismissive, Patel is pushing through harmful reforms, Raab is trying to rid us of our rights and as a result we are becoming one of the most authoritarian countries in the western world. Amnesty international have been scathing about the UKs response to restrict the rights of refugees , it has flagged up Patel's nationality and borders act as being seriously concerning for human rights. Amnesty International's Sacha Deshmukh said " The UK cannot credibly campion human rights internationally if it is undermining them at home" That impacts any stance we take on Ukraine.

All the while we have 20 Tory MPs facing fines for breaking the law, a PM who lied to parliament and probably broke the law, we have an energy crisis, a cost of living crisis, inflation rising, debt increasing, fire and rehire happening more and more, Fox's mints being the latest to use this abhorrent practice. Wee have 2 million people expecting to be in serious financial trouble by autumn as we endure the biggest fall in living standards in history.

But look somebody has a cock. There is even a thread about it in odd topic, that is how the subterfuge has hit home.

Hence why we have Tory MPs writing letters to Will Smith about his behaviour at the Oscars rather than focusing on the real issues

useless useless political party

The Tories have made the calculation that the poor don't vote and if they do vote they don't vote for them. But more importantly they believe there is a sizeable constituency of people who are well aware of the increasing privations of the poor, who know these privations are made worse by the actions of this government, but see poverty as self inflicted, outside the remit of government, or they simply don't care either way.

Those Tories who say they care are either lying or don't care not enough to do anything about it, let alone change their voting intentions for the next election.

Sunak knows this, to keep this constituency onside he's promised them jam tomorrow tax cuts.

As for the rest of your post it makes my blood boil! When the left embraces gender identity ideology from the USA wholesale, without thinking it through, making it diktat, a mantra, a matter of faith, where apostates are persecuted and harassed, denounced as heretics and haters, then it deserves to be shot down by the right.

Why shouldn't the right take cheap shots if the left keep giving them bullets.

Imagine going on national radio only to make yourself sound like a fucking idiot.
It’s why the cons are in power though, the country is littered with cunts who get all their political viewpoints direct from the tabloids.
Don’t hold out much hope it’s going to change much in time for next election. Will have to wait for the die hards who prop them up to pass on and fingers crossed the next generation step up.

I think the tories did make a calculation that they could garner enough votes from the relatively poor in the red wall constituencies if they could convince them that all their problems with low pay and lack of investment and opportunities were all the fault of immigration, the last labour government and, of course, the EU, and not years of Tory austerity.
Easy then, to dangle ‘levelling up’ and brexit as the panacea for their misfortunes and the votes poured in.
The downside for the tories now is that as the promises of a better life free of the jackboot of Europe , and the dismal failure of ‘levelling up‘ are evaporating, and in fact life is getting worse for them in terms of the cost of living and fuel.
The pandemic excuse is receding and once (hopefully) Ukraine gets settled, the government is going to have its arse exposed to all and sundry, with an appalling record of mismanagement.
They have made the red-wall constituencies into the political front line, and then thrown more shit on them than before.
It must come back to bite them.

And these people are allowed to vote!!

That’s the truly depressing thing. These people are so brainwashed by right wing media and they don’t even realise it. They are literally programmed to answer any question with “Yeah but Labour are worse.” You ask them to expand on that and they can’t. You bring up examples of the Tories being worse at a certain thing and it’s “Yeah but Jeremy Corbyn.”

It’s beyond depressing actually and it’s the thing that has put me off being more active in politics because it’s got to the point where what you say or what the policies are don’t even matter anymore. Because you are dealing with people like the caller in that video who are just mindless drones spouting off catchphrases the media have fed them.

We need to get back to the days when idiots couldn't be arsed to vote because they thought it made no difference to them. Instead, enough of them are voting based on what they're fed by the right wing media and they tend to vote to disadvantage themselves. And there's so many of them that it makes a difference.

he might be a Conservative but if he was my councillor he'd get my vote. No meetings to discuss - no half arsed repair in 10 months time by a subbie who tendered the cheapest quote to Direct Works just get out and fix neighbourhood problems

Could trip up on the rough edges, probably not been on H&S course.
