I have no idea as to the ethnic, political, religious or political make up of those working in the HO at the time but that is what happened. Why didn't someone report it? No idea. That fact is just another reason to question what was going on at that time. The simple facts appear to be that for you and me in that position forms, affidavits, FB posts etc were deemed adequate proof but if you had an Afghan or Nepalese name DNA was needed. What is also interesting is nowhere has anyone said this DNA was actually tested and "used in evidence". Fucking disgrace. If you were a Nepalese bearing in mind what has happened in recent years would you be spurred on to join our Army. If you were liberated by our troops knowing what is in the public domain would you think the promise of resettlement and support post conflict was sound enough for you to be an interpreter?

Only that it seems it was implemented only on a racial profile - was never actually used to influence and outcome and in any event was contrary to all operating guidelines.

After 200 years in service to the British military the way we have treated Gurkha's and their families in the last 5 years or so ( think Joanna Lumley ) some heads need to be hung in fucking shame.

Turns out when they apply the energy cap idea stolen from the Labour 2015 GE Manifesto even that is not as promised - couldn't let their pals in the energy business take a hit now could they? I am starting to think Mayday is actually a sleeper who has been activated by Labour as she did her best last time to throw it away and is undoubtedly trying her hardest to hand Labour a win next time around.

13th November - Interserve denies being on the brink - 13 hours ago - in talks with creditors. Another big outsourcer about to go pop after Carillion. I presume the Govt will press on and deny they are underfunding these vital services and at the same time we will get more stories of cash being moved into pension funds before it crashes and burns. Strong and stable government isn't what it used to be.

What a fucking shower - today's latest events confirm that Mayday and her "government" will be panned by historians. The chicanery today around the vote that never was just puts a further nail in her sad and sorry coffin.

I've lived through govts led by Wilson, Heath, Callaghan, Thatcher, Major, Blair, Brown, Cameron and now her and she - far and away - is the worst.

Setting aside the Brexit circus she has called an election which cost her a working mandate. During her time in office Carrillion has gone, Interserve is going. Tory councils have gone bankrupt, railways have been a national joke, Cross Rail delayed again and sucks in yet more money, Police, Fire and NHS all pleading for more cash as they all fail to meet targets left right and centre and the Far Right has risen - all that in two years - a pretty impressive trail of disaster but fortunately for her Brexit fuck up will be her epitaph, her foot note in history, the only thing ultimately she will be remembered for.
