The Conservative Party

I hope this is bollocks. Then again with Patel having a fetish for it I wouldn’t be surprised.

Not surprising that she doesn't get on with the little birds in the home office.
Might of presented different crazy stories to different people to see which ones leaked. Like Mrs Rooney.
Never going to happen.

AHH its clear now ..... whilst we've all been focusing on Patel wanting to hang everybody ... and the shite ''oven ready''.. Brexit deal

the Tories have sold off a huge chunk of the NHS to a private company.

you got what you voted for.
Unfortunately not, we all got what the majority voted for unless my special 'I didn't vote for Boris' card got lost in the post :-(

The death penalty doesn’t even have enough support in the Tory Party, there isn’t enough support in the public and I’m not so sure the courts would allow it.

The authorities and government are that hopeless at times it’s a terrible idea. Less than 10 years ago we had the Windrush Scandal come to light.

If they can deport the wrong people, then they’ll end up killing the innocent.

Exactly, so who / what game is being played?
Throw a few extreme policies out there to test the waters and then the PM makes a political statement which comes across far more liberal in comparison trying to promote a new "golden age for everyone now we are free to control our destiny." Or some other bollocks like that.

but thats Conservatism

You should check which party actually brought forward a motion and voted to abolish the death sentence in the UK and which party presented a petition to retain it.
The Conservatives brought forward gay marriage and voted it through but I wouldn’t exactly call that a conservative policy either.

Your problem is you look at the Tories and think that’s what conservatism is.

For the record Attlee and Bevan both voted to keep the death penalty.

You're not getting it mate.
It'll be floated as an idea to apply to the most serious type of horrendous crime such as terrorist atrocities.
The purpose will be to stoke up the culture wars.
It will never be implemented.

For the record ... Gay marriage was just a tiny step further than the huge step Labour took by allowing Civil Partnerships it didnt happen under Labour because it was felt that it was "intimately bound up with questions of religious freedom". However it became Labour Party policy and was included in their manifesto of 2010.

If you want to know the record of the Tories in this respect

They passed the Nullity of Marriage Act, which effectively banned marriage between same-sex couples in England and Wales. In 1973 they replaced it with the Matrimonial Causes Act, which says that a marriage is void if the parties are not male and female. It remains in force to this day.(they cant even get rid of crap legislation)

Then in 1988 Section 28 was passed by the Tories, which prohibited "the teaching in any publicly funded school of the acceptability of homosexuality as a family relationship". In 2003 it was repealed and in 2009 David Cameron formally apologised for his party introducing the law.

The same sex marriage Act was driven by the Liberals in the coalition particularly by Lynne Featherstone.

Please don't try and tell me that the Tories are on the side of the LGBTQ community.
