The Conservative Party

The latest wheeze? More excuses to help the water companies make even more money. 33 years ago we sold off water companies because we had an antiquated, Victorian water system that needed updating and privatisation was said to be the only way we could get the investment to update it. Here we are 33 years later and even after £bns of profit made by these companies we still the same. Surprise, Surprise. But now this government are going to do something about it ha, ha. They will be given donkeys years to sort it and guess who will be paying for it in higher water bills and said companies will still make shed loads of money out of us.

It’s quite simple. We sold off all of our treasures to private companies who make lots of money and give no investment, leading to us, the tax payer, having to fund any and all upgrade works, or failures, in order to allow the capitalists to make even bigger profits which they do not share with the workers that actually made the whole process happen.

The disastrous rail privatisation being a great example.
It costs the taxpayer more in subsidies than the publicly owned version ever did, but that money goes into the pockets of ceo‘s in bonuses and share dividends to foreign investor. Billions of it.
While Mick Lynch and the RMT get accused of greed with inflationary pay claims.

"HM Government are on holiday until 5/09/22. We will answer any urgent correspondence when we return."

Are the BBC news department trolling us.

They've released a documentary about the President of Brazil and how he's used the media to destroy democracy in Brazil. Yet there's no mention of how our current government is doing exactly the same.

It's feels like they are saying we know that you know the government are taking the piss out of you. So what are you going to do about it?

It’s probably made by a different department of BBC News if not an independent production company.

You make a very good point though, there may be a chance that it gets some coverage when the Tories are out of power and can't hurt the BBC anymore.

Reactions: mat
news for the Chancellor - as of 2020 ONS figs show 25% of the population earn over £40k pa and wages since then have been depressed and the inflation rate has soared so the outlook for people and the economy is looking tragic - still at least they are having some jolly hustings without realising they are overseeing the electoral decimation of their own party

Ironically, privatisation meant train drivers got paid more because different companies had to compete for their skills!

Richer people are suffering, how are the lower paid feeling?

Hopefully this populist government will do something, starting with an actual real understanding of why everybody is striking.

It's tough at the top, but It's worse at the bottom.

Expecting anything remotely like empathy and concern for the worried members of this fair sceptered isle over the cost of living crises is naive in the extreme.

They are on holiday, and that sums the lazy, entitled bastards up to a tee.

I've lost count of the number of Ministers caught short because lying on a beach was more important than running the country.

Boris has done fuck all for months, is still being paid his handsome salary, and they think we are the workshy scroungers.

The Times commission a poll which half the Tories are saying the energy must be nationalised to stop them being greedy bastards.

The new leadership candidates are sending out their proxies with fingers in their ears singing la la la.
