Guys don't worry about the Daily Mirror I work at the M.E.N and have seen there readership and sales figures. If they make it to the end of 2009 it will be a miracle!!!!

Trinity Mirror's shares and The Daily & Sunday Mirror are worthless.

I hope you are right - it also means the Liverpool Echo will go bust aswell!!!!!

Going bump like the team they brown nose

City are ruining football are they?

Football was ruined the day united and the rest of them started paying 30 million for players with money they dont have (loans)

I'd be more worried about the MEUN.......still giving away papers for free to boost 'readership' figures I see!

There some rubbish masquerading as news in the MEN. Like page 5 a month back they devoted half a page to some knob who flew from Australia to England to watch football. Who gives a fuck?

The MEUN is every bit as bad as the mirror for it's pro rag reporting as well. Also they are liars, they are getting owned left right and centre as more and more advertising moved online so they start giving away papers for free to then mislead potential advertisers about how many 'readers' they have!

hopefully it will go bump but I was just reading the statement attributed to Hughes ''at the moment your never sure what they're going to produce'' isnt he supposed to know what his players can do, cause most people on here know which ones are rubbish and which ones are tryers and he must know where his dressing room problems are

You're talking absoloute bollocks there mate, all our statistics are monitored by industry standard auditors!

Plus we have the biggest online network in Greater Manchester, so we are quite happy at the fact that more advertising is leaning towards online.

In terms of giving away free newspapers, of course it generates better readership figures. it benefits both the reader and advertiser.

If we continually mislead people they wouldn't continue to advertise with us.

ffs of course the MEN is going to be pro United. It' the Manchester Evening News. They aren't biased in coverage towards City or United. I'd say they have a pretty even mix, unless United win something. Get over yourselves always moaning about the media hating City, it's pathetic.

Anyway, the MEN can't be doing that badly if they can afford to run a TV channel and put video content on their site now.

I do remember the Leader column a few years ago where the MEN said we are not anti City - we just publish the results!
I know a few people at the MEN and to be fair they are all blues - so not sure if there is an inbuilt bias or not - may just be our natural paranoia.

Would not be unhappy to see the back of the Mirror.

I think some of the criticism of the MEN is a bit unfair, they are dammed if they do, and damned if they don’t, we all hate reading about the rags but have to face the facts it is a local newspaper so it is going to happen.

They supported the “Save our Sven” campaign, alright it was ill advised and made a few look like tits, but I thought it was a nice gesture.

The only criticism I do have is when clicking on the site sometimes you are greeted with Ronaldo in advertisements well out of order.

Why then were there days when we were in the first & second division, we played and there wasn't anything At all in the MEN the following day, i mean absoloutly nothing. The same day though United would get 2 to 4 full pages over somthing completely daft like beckham bought a new pair of shoe laces which would help him perform better, or Fergie told wenger were going to beat you.

Best news all day, can't stand that rag. I've hated (and boycotted) the Mirror since Foe.

According to the latest ABC figures Dannydale, maybe it's you who should be lookinf for a new job.

Daily Mirror year on year sales: 1,400,206, down 7.8 per cent. Third biggest daily behind the Sun and Mail.
Sunday Mirror year on year sales: 1,255,150, down 7.6 per cent. Third biggest Sunday newspaper behind the NOTW and MOS.

Meanwhile, the Manchester Eveing News circulation is 161,545. This makes it the country's largest regional newspaper. Impressive until you learn that 52.2% of its circulation are newspapers given away free.

Both the Liverpool Echo and Wolverhampton Star SELL more than 100,000 copies a day.

The MEN figures are piss poor given Manchester is a world-class city with two huge football teams as well as Bolton and Wigan on the doorstep.

Like I said Dannydale, get the cv ready.
