I was listening to few comments from friends the other about how long he takes with them, usually around 30 secs. But isnt it just as long as taking a corner? So I don't see the problem...

Thoughts?

I'm not particularly bothered about him taking 30 seconds to throw the ball. But what does annoy me is that if Bridge or Richards were to take 30 seconds on a throw-in, the ref would book them for time wasting. So it's the refs that i have the problem with. Just because it's Delap, they let him have as long as he wants without saying anything to him. Yet everyone else has different rules applied to them.

Burnley moved the advertising boards nearer the touchline last night so he couldn't get as much of a run up. Still didn't stop them scoring from his throw though

Personally if they played at the bottom of our fuckin` garden,I wouldn,t open the blinds or curtains to watch those twats !!
The worst of the worst thats ever been in the PL for years.
Hate there style of play and god knows how idiots can watch them week in and week out.
BORING,BORING,BORING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it 30 seconds?

Gathering up the ball, 5 seconds, getting into position, 3 seconds, wiping the ball, 4 seconds, getting ready and launching it, 5 seconds?

Just my take on it, but I don't think it's half a minute.

Nah mste it's definitely that long. Plus the time for him to trot over to the other side of the field like in the cup. Fuckers.

Yeah, I suppose when you add in the 'extras' it may be 30 seconds, but how much time is lost with goalkeepers strolling to the 'wrong' side of the goal area to take a goal kick?

I'm not trying to change the subject, but they waste more time, I don't know why they do it, and it irritates me far more than any Delap throw in ever will.

bleedin' ell, how long did it take you to pick up on this thread and at what time on a friday morning?
do you spend all your time monitoring this forum for any mention of your team, you're like some internet fireman, I bet you have a Stoke detector

Stoke players arent the most technically gifted, You have to hand it to them they play to there strenghts and if that is getting goals from long throws then so be it ( even if it is horrible to watch). Other teams have to set up and learn how to deal with the delap throws.

No your not. Pulis is a bitter, bitter man, who usually couldn't manage a wank, he'll blow it and so will your tin pot club.
No we're not??? Ok sunbeam, revisit that silly comment in ten years time!!! Tis all

Ten years time!! Deary me, you've clearly not got a clue about the Prem. You're a championship team that have two tactics throw-ins and diving. Come back next season and see where you are. You are a truly toss team. Your better players are over reaching themselves now, the odd one will get picked up by bigger clubs like Bolton and Wigan and the natural order of things will come around again.

Lloydie lloydie lloydie.....again i see someone being so touched by stoke that you feel the need to comment on me commenting on this thresd.....blimey!!!

Oh and the answer to your question is "no"

Ok Delap has a long throw now I am no football coach/manager but why don't they put one of the tallest players right on the by line in front of Delap like in our case Adebayor who could jump up and down before his throw to put Delap off.

City fell victim to his throws and we seem not to have a clue how to deal with it, managers should know the oppositions strenghts and have a plan of action but City just gave Stoke the time and the room.

Feel free mate. You'll stay up this season, obviously even a genius like yourself can figure that one out, with I reckon somewhere between 40-42 points. But on what basis do you think you'll be able to sustain your stay in the prem? You've not got any players of any real quality, your manager is not great especially when things go against him, and tbh your support has always been a bit iffy. When you inevitably start shipping goals they'll turn and you know it.
