Who owns the MEN Arena?? Is that not a coucil building with SMG managing it, much the same as City Manage COMS?? Yes we will need permision, yes they have refused that in the past, but decisions get changed. The whole sports city complex so far has been kept to generic names, but we are looking to radicaly develop the whole are and will not be doing that using names like The City of Manchester Hotel etc. The council want to retain ownership as they get a guaranteed revenue over many generations, but will surley sell naming rights after losing the Congestion Charge debate, to use additional funds to pay for Metro expansions already comoited to
