With 15 minutes to go the chant for Trautmann began in the south stand.

Considering many of the singers weren't born when he was around this was a magnificent gesture by all concerned.

Well done.

it got sung several times and was a great tribute from many of our younger fans to a great servant from over 50 years ago................

Bert looked quite emotional by the reception he got when he came onto the pitch............

Did anyone read the Bert Trautmann article in the Matchday Programme? Very moving stuff.

When he recalls both the Fulham and City players forming lines applauding him off the pitch at the end of the match following a 0-1 defeat. Not only that, the Fulham fans gave him a standing ovation, too. He's a very proud and humble man.

Was awesome to be a part of that yesterday and very moving, times like that make you proud to be a blue

i never saw Bert play unfortunately, but my dad did, and although suffering from dementia, he still remembers city and his hero`s.

Bert has a place in my dads heart and he talks about him fondly, as i think city and its fans have undoubtedly a place in Bert's heart.

a true hero, and a humility a lot of today's super stars should strive to emulate.

Great to see City continuing to give Bert the recognition he deserves - a true City legend. Like many who cheered him yesterday I never saw him play but he will forever be remembered as one of the greatest keepers of all-time. I hope he stay around a bit longer to see us win something.

seen Bert play in a testimonial in 74 for Alan Oakes I think at half time.Still seemed quite agile then and he would have been 51 then.Just glad I can say I've seen him play, albeit for 10 mins.

i loved every minute of that...im only 20 so obv i did not get to see him play but i know he is a legend! and i loved it when he was wiping the tears away!

In the week that whisky faced bitter twat came out with the bilious line 'Typical Germans', it was nice to see the blues demonstrate loyalty, admiration and respect to our German legend!
BERT TRAUTMANN...TYPICAL GERMAN

Thing is Taggart didn't realise that when he belittled 'de Germans' in the 1st leg it would back fire and it did again... God bless them...

Still enjoy "Roslers Grandad bombed Old Trafford, home of Trafford United" that was wrote on a wall round our way.. be nice for some of the southerners to actually visit Manchester rather than the outskirts and a place called Trafford which they make the trip up M1 / M6 to on a regular basis.

Come on City ...

One of my first matches was Bert's testimonial in 1964.
Let's hope the club do the same for Nelly Young now that we have honourable owners.

Set the tone for the whole match in my opinion, it got the atmosphere going for the first time in ages and the result was a fitting tribute, if we play like that we should wheel him out before every match !

I have a signed Bert photo in my hallway - Its the only city picture I have up in the house - I'm only 30 - never seen the bloke play but I have no interest at all in idolizing ANY recent players - Yes I have a soft soft spot for some - Goat / Kinky / Rosler - Burt to me none of them really really really seem arsed deep deep down

Bert played 20 mins with a broken neck....and he has a belting story about being trapped under a load of rubble for a few days in the war

More like like - Players with a set of stones between their legs, not just hanging out for the big bucks

Yep, i read it, i also read that he never got 1 cap for the German national team cos they only picked players playing inside West Germany, even though he was the best German GK of that time.

TYPICAL GERMANS
