Fair comment, but I found the book unreadable. Reading Burgess felt like reading Joyce.Read the book instead. The film is bobbins in comparison. Alex is supposed to be 16, but Malcolm McDowell is about 30 in the film.
I've shagged worse. The green witch in Wizard of Oz….. **shudders**
The original Salems Lot, starring David SoulWhich film is that from, just out of interest?
I've never been able to explain it, but there's something peculiarly creepy about someone looking through a window at you, smiling and beckoning in a clearly malignant way. I can think of several films where it's been used (particularly by Polanski in The Tenant).

So you gassed your neighbour and then raped her!A dark film.
I remember watching that with my sister and mother. When it finished, I jumped up off the couch, and immediately went into full Richard Attenborough mode (I like to imitate actors). My mother cried out, “You see who he identifies with!” We all three burst out laughing, and then went off to make a brew in the kitchen.
It was a fair cop. At least he wasn't a loser, unlike all the others. Well, in a manner of speaking…
