The final Manchester Derby at Maine Road

The after party started on the corner of Kippax Street & Claremont Road as their escort came out.
Just about everything was thrown at them which split the escort up & they never had a chance after that.
With four red brothers always ramming it down my throat for years how they did what they want at Maine Road, it was a very pleasant evening in my house that night.

As it was the last season, I decided to video my journey to Maine Road. And chose this fixture to do it. Started filming in my car up Princess Road, turning into WIlbraham Road and parking there. Then video'd the walk up the local streets and along passage No. 2, onto Maine Road and into the ground. Video'd bits of the game. The best bit was I was filming when Anelka got the ball and approached the goal. When the ball hits the back of the net, the video goes haywire, all over the place.
I loved both Goater's goals. A fantastic day, recorded for posterity.

I drive through the area sometimes; off Grt Westers, Kippax St, left and right onto Maine Road, out of Ebberstone past the Parkside... but it's all different now. Would love to see old footage of it. My Mam grew up round there too so she'd like that video.

I'm away at the moment on a motorbike tour Gary but will check it out when I get back. Right now I'm in Koblenz about to watch England on a giant screen outdoors, surrounded by Germans!
