1986 FA cup final
That’s a quality memory mate. Not the foggiest idea but it would have been around 1970, possibly earlier (Live).
I vividly remember being told to come in (was outside playing kerby) because, "Your Dad is taking you to see City".
I'll never forget it mate. I actually started whining that I didn't want to go.That’s a quality memory mate.
Brilliant.First TV match I have a clear memory of was Spurs v Leicester City, 1961 FA Cup final, Spurs won 2-0 to clinch the League and Cup double. Leicester had a player carried off with a broken leg in the first half, no subs then.
First "live" match was at the swamp, FA Youth Cup Semi-final 1st leg April 8th 1964, we lost 4-1.
The second leg on 20th April was my first visit to Maine Rd, we lost 4-3.
Soon after those games I started spending most of my money on records and only went to a few Central League matches in between until :
5th March 1966 - First team "debut" FA Cup 5th round v Leicester City, 2-2 draw, Neil Young scored both.
First away game - swamp derby Sept 1966, lost 1-0, Summerbee had a goal controversially ruled out for offside.
I suppose I could think of all the money I could have saved since then but it wouldn't have been half as much fun.
