The Wellington is about 100 yards from the flag and does B&B and great food, stayed their a couple of times when going to Vicarage Rd, both very handy for Watford junction

The City special train caught fire one year after we'd played at Watford , so we all had to 'lose ourselves' for an hour or two in central Watford whilst another engine was sought from afar ....... we all piled off the 'smoking' train , and straight into the nearest couple of pubs on the high street and the local yobs , who clearly hadn't expected it , completely shit themselves ...... they couldn't get out of the places quickly enough !
