Despite us currently challenging for fourth place, I always like to take a step back and foresee and imagine this simply being the start of things to come. The noisy neighbours will get louder and they'll keep going until the whole congregation of Mancunian Asbos do so in one place, the City of Manchester Stadium.
Debt-free and with long-term plans, I do not think our owners are just in it for a quick buck. They are more interested in what they can do for this club and want to receive long-term adoration from the supporters. I get the feeling that they want to build something here that lasts. That they have a unique vision for us and are thinking a hell of a lot bigger than any of us can comprehend.
There's certainly light at the end of a tunnel that seems to have blocked by events that have held us back time and time again and I'm sure you'll cast your own minds back to them horrific relegations and playing in division two etc. Seems a life time away from the club we see today yet can remember it as if it was yesterday I can imagine for some people.
Finally we can see the rags desmise through our blue yank friends, The Glazer Family. Finally we can see the potential not only to be on level terms with them eventually, but to surpass them. Yes, I know I am talking about the long-term, but the potential to do so is a very real thing!
I find it funny to think that a few seasons ago we finished 16th. Now we have a significant majority complaining that anything below 4th would be a dissapointment. If that's not a sign of how far we've come in a stupidly short space of time then I don't know what is.
The future's bright, the future's blue and white!
