The future of the Champions League

This year's final is being contested by one team that hasn't won their own league for 29 years, and one who hasn't won it for 58 years - first change should be to drop the name "champions" league.

The problem is that English clubs are all £100m a year richer than anyone else.

So you have all 20 premier league clubs in the top 30 richest teams in the world, and the rest of Europe is terrified that the Premier League is going to become the NFL or NBA of football, the 1 big dominant league. That's why they tried to get loopholes for FFP, and why they got rid of the qualifying system for 4th placed teams in Italy, Spain and Germany because they kept losing and why they'll keep trying things like this to get more money.

The All English CL and Europa League finals will only play into that fear that this is the new norm and soon clubs like Bayern, Juve etc. won't be able to compete.

We have the richest teams for now but that bubble will pop. The TV deal is not sustainable long term and when the money runs out, which it will, there is a risk of a lot of clubs going pop akin to Bolton and others that have flirted with administration.

The UEFA moves here water down and devalue the “product” even more. Terrible idea and will have wider ramifications for national leagues for sure

Those 2 little old fellas who work in the the Charity Shop on Burnage Lane could come up with something better than this.

Is this really the calibre of intellect and understanding of the game football is being led by?

The fact they had the naivety and brass neck to put such a ridiculous idea out there says everything.

Not even united are that stupid that they'd ruin their own domestic league which earns them £250m for being shite.
Exactly. Anyone from the Premier League even considering this idea would have had to be certifiably insane.
