Queen "not amused" by Fergie remarks

The Queen was apparently very unhappy at Sir Alex Ferguson's remarks accusing Germans of being cheats after last night's defeat by Bayern Munich. Our royal family changed their surname from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Mountbatten-Windsor in 1914 but even Mountbatten is the English translation of the German name Battenburg.

As someone who is proud of her German ancestry, Her Majesty is believed to be quietly exploring the possibility of relieving Ferguson of his knighthood after the election. A Tory win should make that easier as Ferguson, despite his wealth and very comfortable lifestyle, is a vocal Labour supporter.

Fergie needs to be thankful it's 2010 and not 1710 however. In those days he might well have been relieved of his head!

Only Ferguson would say something as offensive as that and believe he is the one that's offended, he is a disgrace and fast becoming a laughing stock, it was totally out of order he should be made by the FA to apologise for his remarks saying that they were made in error after a disappointing defeat.
