Gone for you after the 4-3 at WHL or us beating Spurs to the Champions League position in 2011 or do you still feel it's revenge 'uncooked'?. I know a few people felt karma when we beat Liverpool to the title last season after the events of 1977. Are we due a resounding win in a Cup Final against Spurs to finally put this to rest?

I must admit it would be nice. Especially at Wembley.

Only born in 82 boss but yes to thumping them for the following reason...

The shit and bile they spewed when we started making a move up the table was about as bad as rawk is regarding us.
No easy feat i think you will agree.

crouchinho is a top poster though :-)

Agreed about our Spurs poster. Nice lad.

For me this is a painful childhood memory though that needs avenging and I don't really care about internet posters stature to influence my opinion. I hope one day we avenge that sad Thursday night when we were out numbered in the crowd and the media wanked over Spurs.

Still not able to watch that goal.

Has got easier since we have won things in the past few years, which pre 2008 looked a million miles away. At that time winning the league cup was about the only chance of getting a cup. No chance for fa cup or league.

Love to beat them in the final to put a closure on it.

I'll never forgive or forget. They broke an 18 year old's heart back in 1981. Cockney c**ts.

Im a bit younger but apart from that agree 100%!

looking back at it it was amazing how such a mediocre team we had got as far as we did,Hutchison was head & shoulders above everyone, never saw it like that at the time & thats the way the cup was in them days, rarely happens now

I was 9 and had the child's belief that City had to win simply because they were my team. Anything else was impossible.

Not sure even a "revenge" win in a final over them could remove that trauma.

John Bond really got the team playing with belief that season.
We had the remnants of the Allison squad and supplemented it with veterans like Hutch, Gow and Bobby Mac who had spent their careers as good players in mediocre teams and were hungry for some success.
Went to the Saturday game as a 20 year old of limited means and the own goal we conceded was like a dagger to the heart.
Couldn't afford to do the replay a few days later and watched on telly a few days later with an air of resignation to our fate.
Spurs were by far a better side and in the end it told.

Chas and fucking Dave........
Went to both games as an 18 year old. They would never have scored in the first game other than that freak goal.

Also there was the quarter final at Maine Road too, in 93 (I think) first game of the new Platt Lane..... bastards...
