I’d support Harry any day of the week compared to the media who are minting it.
Same here. My auntie phoned me during the Champions league final to tell me my grandma had cancer and was going to die (Rags were losing 1-0 at the time). I have no clue where I was when I was told she actually died. It's funny, I cannot remember where I was or when I found out my Grandmother died when I was 17, but I can recall exactly the moment I found out she was going to die a week or two earlier.
A few years earlier I don't remember finding out my paternal grandmother was going to die, or when I found out she had died - I suppose my mum must have sat us down and told us - but I have a crystal clear image of my Dad walking in the front door the next morning having been with her when it happened.
Memory is a funny old thing. It lies to us all the time, it's often imprecise and other times can be detailed beyond belief. Some things you can never forget, and other things you lose completely until they just hit you suddenly.
The fact that something is riddled with inaccuracies - including things which could easily be checked within the space of a couple of minutes - makes it more credible? It would have been pretty straightforward for Harry to get some fact checkers to make sure he got all the dates, times and locations correct but the fact there’s a few discrepancies suggests to me that the book is really based on his flawed memories (like everyone’s) rather than a team of fact checkers. It actually adds credibility.
The discrepancies are all fairly trivial in the scheme of things and had he got it corrected it wouldn’t have made any material difference anyway to what actually happened.
You’re right that he probably should have latched on to the fact that his detractors would scrutinise every fucking word. But getting first and business class mixed up along with getting the wrong location when finding out about his great grandmother’s death doesn’t detract a huge amount from the more pertinent stories unless you really want it to.The fact that something is riddled with inaccuracies - including things which could easily be checked within the space of a couple of minutes - makes it more credible?
Makes sense.
There's no one-size-fits-all template when it comes to recollections. It's why some people have a natural aptitude for languages and attain fluency in 6 months, whereas for others it can take a lifetime. Myself personally, I remember exactly where I was when the twin towers came down but struggle beyond belief when it comes to birthdays; I have to get my parents to remind me of theirs every fucking year without fail. You won't find a single autobiography that doesn't have the odd recollection that's out of sync; it doesn't make those odd recollections calculated lies. It's what makes this strategy from the media so desperate, they're an embarrassment and so too are the lemmings that latch on to the wording of a flight class being inaccurate.Same here. It doesn't detract at all from the pertinent stroy. The context doesn't change if either of those "discrepancies" are realigned. It's desperate stuff, but it's all they've got so let them be desperate. He's launched a molotov at the heart of our scummy media and they can't handle it. I only hope he ramps it up to nuclear. You’re right that he probably should have latched on to the fact that his detractors would scrutinise every fucking word. That’s the key point. The media get both barrels and his family pick up a bit of collateral, but not enough to make a reconciliation impossible. According to the media though he’s pissing on his mother’s and the Queen’s graves. Anyone with half a brain can see that the media reaction is hysterical hyperbole. It doesn't detract at all from the pertinent stroy. Spoke to her or one of her close friends have you?Megan’s sitting on the sidelines right now pissing herself laughing at the millions coming in.
Alas poor Harry, when your cash cow runs out, so do you when she decides to move on with half your fortune.
The only nuclear bomb going off is in poor wee Harry’s head. And the public can’t wait. It’s just like Elizabethan times at executions. He’s brought it on himself.
