The "I was wrong about Mancini" thread

I kinda wish the players had done the whole throw-the-coach-in-the-air thing. But at least everyone realizes the good that Mancini has done for this club. When he had started saying that City had no chance to win the title, I knew that it was a psychological tactic but I didn't realize just how much it had helped to relax the players (like some of them said). And like Khaldoon said, one of Mancini's great qualities is that he's willing to evolve.

Also, after the trophy celebration, Mancini had come out onto the pitch to do some more interviews and there were a couple fans that were expressing their deep gratitude toward him and he listened to each one of them.

Forza Mancini!

The "I was wrong about Mancini" thread

I was very critical of him at first, thought sacking Hughes for him was a sideways step and one that potentially cost us CL qualification that season and a Cup. I thought his tactics were shite, not in the sense that they were too defensive but that he lacked the courage to be a winner. I was wrong, incredibly wrong.

The game that changed my opinion was against Spurs on the opening day of the following season. We were being battered up to half time and it seemed to be becoming a typical repeat of the poor performances of the previous season but the boys came out in the second half, took control of the ball and never let it go again taking all the fight and energy out of Spurs. Finally, I could see the type of side Mancini was trying to build and have been behind him all the way since the even though there have been some fucks ups along the way which he has rightly been criticised for in my opinion

Your reply is not just a message , it's also a personal insult and one which I fully intend to report, there is simply no need to resort to slagging people off just because they have a different opinion to your's, I was replying to a thread asking for people's opinion on Roberto Mancini as our manager, nobody asked you your opinion of me (bearing in mind you don't know me) so you are not entitled to an opinion on me, so are you big enough to apologise or am I reporting you ?
You are demonstrating a clear mental difficiency if you wish to give me a chance to apologise before reporting me and then don't even wait for my next reply aren't you? Anyway, it was well worth the warning and I wouldn't have apologised because apparently, for you, the assessment of our season would have depended on the last fifteen seconds. Not that we'd be the runners-up with the highest points tally in history, and accumulated eighteen points more than last season, which is a clear sign of progress. So basically we can take from that, that a failure to win a trophy every season is a failure for you.

As for your assessment of how he handled Tevez. He said on the 1st of November he could come back if he apologised. So what does he do in response? He goes to Argentina for three months, but no, it wasn't Tevez (or Carlitos as you call your darling hero) who got it wrong, it was Mancini wasn't it. You myopic windbag.

Final point on his Balotelli bias. Agreed, he does have a bias. He's gambled on Balotelli and I can accept many think the jury is still out on Balotelli and if he's got it wrong on Mancini's head be it. Personally, I think Mancini should stick by him. As for Tevez rescuing our season? Laughable given you think it came down to the final 15 seconds on Sunday. Tevez wasn't on the pitch. Tevez didn't score or get an assist in the three crucial games of the rags, Newcastle (wasn't on the pitch when we scored either goal) or QPR (not on the pitch for the final two, no role in the first goal). Balotelli has won us far more crucial points than Tevez and was the architect of the title-winning goal and yet Tevez gets in the credit in your myopic bubble. You're not a City fan, you're a Tevez fan and that's the worst insult I can deliver.

-- Tue May 15, 2012 9:29 am --

To be fair, it is completely understandable why idiot carries the threat of a warning whereas most others don't. I've never been given a warning for an insult before which speaks for itself a) that I know what is acceptable b) I crossed the line this time and knew it.

We have a thread questioning the managers credentials two days after winning our first title in 44 years.

I want all of you to allow that to sink in for a moment.

More personal insults !! I've probably been a City fan longer than you have been alive, I had some hope for you at the start of this reply but then you resort to name calling again, FYI I'm registered as severely partially sighted with the RNIB something I collected serving our country so the likes of you can have the freedom to insult me.......Thanks alot.

For the record I never at any given time in his tenure have wanted him sacked, just feared that time would prove he wasn't the right man for the job. More than happy to admit I was wrong but don't regret anything I said or felt, I know I'm not the only City fan with a defeatist outlook!

And it's only one or two individuals questioning the manager's credentials, not the thread as a whole.

i have alwys supported mancini,i wasnt happy with the hughes sacking the way it ws done,it made city look like a brutal club.

if agueros shot had hit kenny and gone out of play and we had drawn the game then i would still back mancini,he puts us in a good light,he is respectful,he changes the games when needed,he is tactically clever and as far as im concerned he has handled the players brilliantly.

we have needed stability with mancini we will hopefully get that, bring in 1/2 more players to strengthen the areas needed and away we go.
