The idiocy (and selfishness) of panic buying

Was in the local Tesco earlier. Two blokes came from the back with a cage full if dried pasta to stock the empty shelves. The punters soon cottoned on and it was like a plague of locusts descended and systematically stripped the cage bare. F*cking savages.

I doubt these idiots realise they are just hoarding a dehydrated mixture of flour water/eggs. All three ingredients in plentiful supply and a 15 quid pasta rolling machine will last a lifetime. Cone the self isolation apocalypse it will be quite a therapeutic hobby to roll it out.

Went to lidl earlier for a bit of panic buying and came back with a large block of cheese, bottle of gin and some red wine. Should keep me going.

Our local Tesco is currently out of flour, unless you want any of that expensive artisan bread making flour.

Exactly this...fucking flappers everyone of them, making the whole situation worse and more so for the people who actually need the stuff....still yet to see some clown in a mask and rubber gloves.
As a point of interest, does buying Co op irresistable fruit flapjacks, 2 for the price of 1 count as panic buying...???
Not as long as you get me 3

We usually carry about a fortnights food in tins, frozen and fresh. Always have plenty of shithouse roll and booze and when I go to shop its normally easy enough even in these times across the half dozen supermarkets in town. I spend @ £10-£25 per day depending on what we need anyway - am not panic buying, yes we have no anti-bac gel but we have loads of soap ( it comes in bars as well as squirty bottles, people seem to have forgotten that ) so hands can be kept clean. There is no need to panic buy if you live prudently - my kids used to tell me when they were young how their friends couldn't believe we had full fridges etc and when they saw their fridges there was a bottle of water, an apple and a half used bottle of Dol Mio sauce.....the empty fridgers had a bigger "nicer" house of course and tow really expensive cars on the drive. Its about priorities.

Im a single man with a full time job that normally means I end up buying all the stuff that these Nesbitt's are chasing about after anyway. Spare a thought for me

Not really - tea tonight was a home made tomato sauce ( I make a batch of a dozen and freeze them ) with some minced steak in it, some boiled dried spaghetti with a bit of cheese on it, crusty bread and a salad. Healthy eating is frugal eating - most people who say it isn't don't try it as its easy to use Just Eat for them.

Not got caught up in this panic buying but went Tesco before and yep not a single toilet roll in the shop
Manager was on the aisle and said some small shop owners are coming in the early hours straight after delivery’s and cleaning them out. I asked can they not restrict the amount they can buy but she said there’s loads so even if it’s 3 packs max they get them all

Some fuckin morons in the world
